The Fairy cave was pretty neat. We opted for the walking cave tour. My family and I travel around the United States and have seen caves in Hawaii, Arizona and Colorado. This is the best cave we have seen in Colorado. It's just long enough to keep the kids interested, but not too long (about 70 minutes). Our tour guide, "Paul" was excellent and told goofy jokes to keep us laughing and stories to intrigue the kids. There was a lot of neat history with this cave too. If you are in the area, or planning a trip to the Hot Springs Pool, this is a great little spot.

Even if you don't like going underground (like me) you'll love the caverns. I had heard of the Fairy Caves from my mother who grew up here but had no idea where they were. The Cavern tour includes the Fairy Caves and the new cave which is kept closed so it will continue to evolve. Never knew cave features could be so cool. There are also the rides and scary swing out over the Glenwood Cavern.

My kids and I love going up to the Glenwood caverns. If you're only traveling thru the area it's a great way to spend a day, with or without kids. There is a lot to do from the cave tours to the alpine roller coaster. They have cave tours for the less adventurous, (just a walking tour thru large open caverns) to the very adventerous,(spelunking tours that you're on your belly in small spaces for). There's also a zip line, the roller coaster, (which my husband took our 2 year old on and she LOVED it!!) and several others. We did the fort maze and they give out little prizes for the kids based on time. Een if it takes forever, they'll still get a little something. If you're a local, I recomend the tram pass. It's only 25 bucks and lasts a year and includes a 10% discount at the resturant, snack stand and gift shop. SInce the tram ride usually costs $12 it more then pays for itself. My girlfriends and I take our kiddos up regularly during the nice months. We pack a lunch (though the food prices are pretty reasonable) and let the kids play in the huge fossil sand area they have. If you buy a cup from the snack stand you get free refils for the life of the cup, so again totally worth it. So if you're going up as a tourist or a regular this is a great day of family fun!

Swim in the Glenwood Hot springs first, then take the aerial tram for a family treat.
