I'm from North Carolina and have eaten at Lucha's a number during my visits to Colorado….From what I've read from some of the less complimentary reviews a lot of folks are expecting either assembly-line dishes or grand European opulence at McDonald's prices. You'll get neither here, because this is simply a very, very good local restaurant that serves delicious, hardy meals at reasonable prices.
Sometimes service isn't jet-like. C'mon, it's a local restaurant and people and waitresses talk and exchange banter. It's not McDonald's. It's friendly, interesting, and engaging. The bar is set in what seems to be a historical setting--aged, long, and inviting. Movies were, from what I have learned, have been filmed here, for Goodness Sakes.
As far as the food, the quality and portions cannot be beat. Wonderful salads. The best burgers--including bison--on earth. Onion and sweet potato fries. Great mac and cheese. Burritos and chimes. Really, really good food, in large amounts, at a great price.
If folks want fast good, go to a fast good restaurant. If you want escargot and foi gras, whip out your credit card and go high scale. But if you want a really good meal at a really good price and want to leave fat and happy after a relaxing meal amidst a long bar, tables and chairs, local beer, and a flat screen tv with sports, then check out Lucha. You'll leave pleasantly surprised…...
