“Planes, Trains & Automobiles...OK, Just Automobiles”

There are probably at least 50 vehicles from the privately owned collection of Discovery Channel's John Hendricks. Visit and learn the story of how the automobile impacted society. Every age will experience a wonderful visual and educational experience with historical perspective.

“Beautiful facility - sassy cars”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 8, 2013

If you are in southwest Colorado, this car museum is stellar and a must-see. As you drive off of Highway 50 onto Highway 133, the scenery instantly changes into a thing of beauty with high cliffs, trees, running water and mountain goats. It takes about 45 minutes to get from the 50 near Grand Junction to the museum and surrounding resort. There are several restaurants - we ate at the Paradox restaurant. Paradox has a limited menu, but the food was good and the service was quick (wine & beer is served in this restaurant). There are adventures to take if you are inclined. Keep in mind it is quite warm in the summer and temps can reach 105 degrees, so plan accordingly. The car museum is small, but the cars are BEAUTIFUL. There were some surprising treasures here that will fill your eyes and make you drool. Plan to spend at least 3 hours in the museum so you can read all the information and appreciate the quality of vehicles.

“Awesome Museum”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 28, 2013

The drive from Grand Junction to Gateway is incredible with some stunning views that are some of the best you will see in Colorado as far as red book cliffs are concerned, once in Gateway the museum is tucked in behind the convenience store and resturant and the resturant is worthy of eating at. The museum is a private collection of John Hendricks the Discovery channel founder and starts with some of the first vehicles and motorcycles clear up to muscle cars. If you can afford to stay at Gateway Canyon Resort it looks fantastic and you can't beat the views.
