“Great food, but clean it up!”
Reviewed August 3, 2012

I have loved the Blue Spruce for years but it is dirty! Looking around the restaurant last night as I dined on the lobster pasta (nice big chunks of lobster in a creamy sauce) the lace curtains haven't been washed in years so it makes you wonder how clean the kitchen is. Also the rustic atmosphere is nice but lose the indoor outdoor carpeting that has been there for way too long.

The servers interrupted conversation without apology. I know they are under the gun, but take just a minute to say "excuse me" or "sorry to interrupt" before just butting in.

“Destination Dining”
Reviewed July 23, 2012

This wonderful, rustic cabin restaurant is the perfect mountain dining atmosphere. We first ate here over 15 years ago, and shortly thereafter, we returned to celebrate our wedding engagement. Have since returned often for anniversaries, nostalgia and to entertain special friends and family, and we travel up from Denver. I can easily say, as a bonafide foodie, that dining here is always a delight and pleasure. We have never had a meal that we or our guests didn't thoroughly enjoy.

“Eh”
Reviewed July 20, 2012

This place wasn't horrible, but it wasn't good either. It could definitely use updating, both the place and the menu. Kids meals are crazy expensive (which is typical of the area) & don't include a drink, but the portions are a good size. I don't get it--for like $8, you'd think they could throw a few grapes or baby carrots on the plate to balance out the fat/sodium for the kids.

“Excellent meal”
Reviewed July 4, 2012 via mobile

We arrived for dinner with 8 folks and no reservations but they brought us upstairs and all was fine. My filet was cooked to perfection and the local beer hit the spot. Would recommend if youre not on a budget and looking to splurge on a nice simple meal. Nothing complicated on the plate at all.

“Charming”
Reviewed June 2, 2012

We ate in the bar due to having little time. The atmosphere was charming with a huge old saloon bar, a ski town atmosphere, and a few televisions for those wishing to watch sports. The server was very pleasant and efficient and the food was very good. When we first went it, we thought about leaving ... it just didn't seem like much, but we were pleased we stayed. Not fine dining, but better than a lot of bars.
