This restaurant was recommended to us, so we decided to give it a try. We were told that we needed to reserve a table, by the bartender (we arrived prior to dinner hours) and so we did. After being seated at 5:00 PM, many tables remained empty when we left at 6:30??? We ordered salads, the pear one was good, the Caesar was mediocre, being a bit too salty and missing either lemon or vinegar. The croutons were also plain and not garlicky. The beef medallions would have been good except the meat was tough and chewy. The steak knife had trouble cutting through it. For $33.00, the beef tenderloin should be "fork" tender. My partner's linguine with clams was the worst she has ever had. The sauce was too lemony and this is the only time that peppers were included in the sauce. Not your traditional dish, as it is one of her favorites and she has had it in many different restaurants. When we told the waiter of our issues, he listened but made no effort to rectify the situation. After receiving our entrees, he was preoccupied with a table of 16 and didn't bother to check with us to see how our meals were. The attitude seemed to be one of some restaurants in resort towns, where they don't care about repeat business. We weren't offered a complimentary dessert or coffee to compensate for the problems. Needless to say, we won't be back, as there are many better options in the area. We are in the area for 3-4 months annually and so will patronize other places. The cost at Vinny's is higher than some of our other favorites (Pug Ryan's) but the quality does not justify it.

We went here because their neighbor was closed, which was probably a shame. They claim to be fine dining. They are far far far away from being fine dining. Putting wine glasses on the table does not fine dining make. The tables had white paper on them for pete's sake! Therefore, Vinmny's is quite overpriced. The worst is how they claim everything is made to order and that is why it takes long is BS. Pretty much everything is painstakingly long heated in an oven, after being pre-made. I had the lasagna which was lukewarm. Definitely no where near the temperature food should be served at. It was edible, cause I was pretty much starving after waiting for it forever. I then had the bread pudding - big mistake. The thing was refrigerator temperature on the inside. The outside where it was hot was really good, then you got to the inside and it was awful. We ate it anyway since we were super hungry after a day on the slopes. In hindsight I should have complained and returned it but by then it was half eaten. The waiter only came around to check on us after the first mouthful, which was delicious. Unfortunately it went downhill fast. They proudly write on the cards at the table that they do not have a microwave. Perhaps they should invest in one. I'd much rather have a nuked bread pudding than a cold one! I would not go back.

This restaurant is advertising both on its web site and on its menu that many dishes can be made vegan. When I asked the server what vegan dishes he recommended he pointed at one single dish. I asked what other options he had as the menu said that many dishes can be made vegan. The grumpy answer was that the house salad is vegan, and we can make a spaghetti marinara. My wife expressed disappointment at the limited vegan choice the waiter became defensive and she was told that they are not a vegan restaurant and that most restaurants would not cater to people's dietary needs and that we should be happy that they offered something. As a punishment for complaining the waiter would fill everyone's water glasses except my wife's.

Glad we made a reservation well in advance as very busy during ski season weekend. Meal and service were excellent though if you are lucky enough for them to have the mussels appetizer, it's really a meal! A little noisy as the space is small and ski towns tend to have groups for dinner rather than just couples looking for a romantic night out. Still a wonderful evening and we were very happy to have dined there.

Vinny's was recommended by Tasha at the Frisco Visitor Center and we were glad we took her advice! We arrived at 6:00pm and were the only ones in the restaurant. We were seated at a small table near the window overlooking Main St. The second floor viewing and the string of lights made for a magical ambiance. David was our host and waiter and he added to our experience with his comments and service. We shared the mussels appetizer - the Portuguese sauce with sausage and peppers was yummy and so tasty for dipping bread! I had a special which was a stuffed rainbow trout served with creamy polenta and my boyfriend had the braised shortribs. Everything about our evening at Vinny's was perfect!
