This restaurant was recommended to us, so we decided to give it a try. We were told that we needed to reserve a table, by the bartender (we arrived prior to dinner hours) and so we did. After being seated at 5:00 PM, many tables remained empty when we left at 6:30??? We ordered salads, the pear one was good, the Caesar was mediocre, being a bit too salty and missing either lemon or vinegar. The croutons were also plain and not garlicky. The beef medallions would have been good except the meat was tough and chewy. The steak knife had trouble cutting through it. For $33.00, the beef tenderloin should be "fork" tender. My partner's linguine with clams was the worst she has ever had. The sauce was too lemony and this is the only time that peppers were included in the sauce. Not your traditional dish, as it is one of her favorites and she has had it in many different restaurants. When we told the waiter of our issues, he listened but made no effort to rectify the situation. After receiving our entrees, he was preoccupied with a table of 16 and didn't bother to check with us to see how our meals were. The attitude seemed to be one of some restaurants in resort towns, where they don't care about repeat business. We weren't offered a complimentary dessert or coffee to compensate for the problems. Needless to say, we won't be back, as there are many better options in the area. We are in the area for 3-4 months annually and so will patronize other places. The cost at Vinny's is higher than some of our other favorites (Pug Ryan's) but the quality does not justify it.
