“Important tip....”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2012

I agree with others that some of the rooms are incredibly small. They have been updated and look amazing, but because of the age of the hotel, they don't have a lot of room to work with. I've stayed here twice. The first time our window looked out onto the enclosed wooden deck that housed the hot tub. It's a pet-friendly hotel, so we tend to have to make adjustments in most hotels in order to take our dog with us.
The second time we stayed on my birthday and rented the "apartment". This was recommended because we had mentioned wanting to cook our own food and have a little more space. The apartment is large and beautiful. Granite countertops, pans and dishes to do your own cooking, balcony that opens up to view Main St., and so much more. You'll love it!
It' s bit more expensive, but well worth it.

Room Tip: I recommend that you ask for "the apartment". Roomy and beautifully furnished.

I had to make a reservation just one day ahead of our two-night visit to Frisco. I checked the mostly positive reviews on Trip Advisor and decided to reserve a room at this hotel. The hotel website is very attractive and I was impressed to find they had even been given awards. We came upon the hotel on Main Street and were disappointed to find it looked old and unattractive. The desk person was friendly and showed us to our room (104), one of the few that were available. The room, located at the back of the hotel, was incredibly small in every way - very little room for luggage and the bathroom was tiny. The bed itself was hard and very uncomfortable. Then we discovered that our room is next to the main hallway to the outside where people come and go all day and night. We knew right away that we didn't want to stay here, but we were hoping that we could fulfill our first night's stay and be on our way in the morning. I went to speak with the desk person who informed me that we would be charged a full night's "deposit" if we didn't fulfill the two-night agreement, essentially also paying for the second night. Perhaps that is common practice in the area. After discussing the issue, a different room with two queen beds (105) was offered. The room itself was larger and there was at least some room to place luggage. I agreed to take this other room for the two nights. Unfortunately, these beds, too, were very uncomfortable and neither my husband nor I got much sleep and our backs were hurting in the morning. The room was dark and the view out our windows was basically the alley. I am really surprised at these positive reviews as I depend on Trip Advisor quite a bit. I feel the photos of the hotel and rooms are misleading. They are made to look attractive, bright and updated, but they are not. When we were finally able to check out of the hotel, we found that the hotel desk area was locked up and there was no box for the keys. The only thing I can say is that the Frisco area itself is beautiful like the rest of Colorado, but we would never stay at this hotel again.

We are very sorry you found our hotel not to your liking. By contrast we have so many guests that comment on how comfortable our beds are and we find bedding can be a very personal taste. All of our rooms are individually furnished and decorated, different in size and style. This character is something guests look for if they enjoy staying in boutique hotels. We endeavor to meet and exceed the expectations of this type of guest.

Hotel was being renovated and there was construction mess everywhere. The bathrooms are tiny. Literally the length of the bathtub by the width of the tub plus 3 ft is all the space in the bathroom. It probably wouldn't have felt so cramped if the bathroom doors opened out instead of in.

Biggest complaint: No A/C. For the price I would have rather gone somewhere with A/C not because I was uncomfortable temperature wise. However the sound of the A/C gives you a little anonymity. With the windows open you can enjoy the neighboring rooms conversations and what not... :(

They did have several amenities we couldn't take advantage of because we arrived at 9 and everything was locked down like Ft. Knox.

Quaint, inviting, friendly place.

Front desk people were very helpful. Family like atmosphere. Kind of a library like common area. On main street within walking distance to cafes, restaurants, and shops.

Room we occupied was small but clean. Bed was comfortable. Morning coffee was much appreciated. Having on site adult beverages available is a plus.

I would stay again.

We stayed for three nights last week, we are touring on a motorcycle and are on holiday from the UK. The hotel is a small, friendly, laid back sort of place as is the town. Reception and the lady owner manager were very welcoming and helpful. We had room 201, which is one of the smaller rooms but quite adequate for what we needed, we actually chose this room when booking. The room was off an upstairs lounge come library which we used to read and relaxin. Clean, quite and comfortable so we were very pleased to be staying there. Frisco seemed to be a bit quite it being between the skiing and the summer season.

We stayed one night and had a room on the first floor in the very back with a private deck. Loved it. The room was very clean and attractive. There was not much activity while we were there, so things were quiet. The only negative is that the bed seemed a little hard. The hotel is located right in the middle of Main Street within walking distance to shops, restaurants, hiking trails, etc. The staff was quite friendly and helpful. Parking lot in the back of the hotel. Coffee is available all the time. There are a few different areas for gathering outside the rooms, which was nice. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again in the future.

awesome views from our patio. Front desk staff (Adam E) was fabulously accomodating and the hotel was clean and hospitable. We would definitely stay here again!

Room Tip: rooms in back with patio are a must!
