“A fine bed.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 23, 2011

My first stay at a La Quinta. The room was clean. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom had a little musty smell which dissipated quickly once it was opened up. The staff was friendly. The breakfast was the usual fair. For a quick night to rest up on a long drive, this place was fine.

Front desk staff was very friendly. The hallways and common areas seemed a bit run-down, but the room itself was clean & comfortable. Breakfast was as expected.

I generally travel with dogs and this trip was no exception. Sometimes La Quinta's are just too expensive and I resort to Motel 6's. This one had a decent room rate which was $102 for Fri/Sat (two queen beds w/ microwave/fridge).
The check in was easy and the clerk was friendly. I could here a gaggle of teenage boys screaming in the pool and and I quickly asked to be FAR AWAY from that group. The clerk said he already did that and they got me the lower floor room I asked for (I am a La Quinta Rewards member, but don't have status, yet).
The room was at the back of the hotel away from the freeway, there was plenty of parking when I arrived at 9pm. The room was a decent size, the microwave/fridge were very clean and the bed was comfortable. BUT, the reason for this review is the SHOWER! The water pressure was amazing! I don't remember the last time I had a "massage" shower that lived up to the name.
Oh and FREE internet (you have to pay $2.99 at Motel 6).
I will stay here again if I am coming through the area.
P.S. There is a Whole Foods about 5 miles away

We were in town for a conference and stayed here for the night. This is a decent hotel that you won't take any horror stories away from.

Pro's:
* Competitive rate
* Nice, clean rooms
* Right off the highway
* Cool pools (1 indoor, 1 outdoor) I think they connected...

Con's:
* FAR from downtown/old town.
* Everything within a mile closes at 11:00. My pregnant wife needed Tums at 11:15 and even though we could see 2 gas stations from the lobby we ended up driving about 15 minutes away to Walmart.
* The floorplan is loooong and I don't think there are elevators. I'd bet we walked about 200 yards from the front desk to our room. This a pain if you have to go to your car at night.

If you can deal with these things, though, you'll enjoy it.

The rooms are clean and very comfortable. There is a decent breakfast but not many other dining options nearby. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Nothing fancy, but a good basic lodging in a convenient location. The interstate is close, and it is a straight shot down Mulberry to the University. The breakfast is fantastic, with several hot items and room to sit down and eat. The rooms are clean. Has both an indoor and outdoor pool and exercise room. The hotel is older, and like other La Quinta's, accepts pets, which we liked. Don't be put off by the grungy parking lot.

Yes the outside exterior and hallways are dated. Was pleased to see the rooms have been worked on and were very clean and comfortable. Service was very good. Had an air conditioner that was not working properly the first night to come back and have a new one installed the next night. That's impressive over a busy holiday weekend. I think this hotel is just fine for the money, the location and the purpose of my travels. If you want soft beds, new rooms, big bathrooms then be willing to pay for it. If you want a clean room and a nice place to sleep at a good price then stay here.
