Description: Avo's has served Fort Collins since 1971. Our restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and caters to vegetarians and meat-eaters alike. We make our famous organic tempeh in-house! We are also one of Northern Colorado's premiere music venues. With two beautiful stages (one outdoors on our beautiful patio), we attract national and local acts alike. We host a killer open mic on Tuesday nights, and an excellent Bluegrass jam on Wednesdays. Our bar opens at 11AM on weekdays, 9AM on weekends--come in and enjoy our signature Bloody Mary, which is topped with a splash of Guinness! Kids LOVE our sweeping back patio, complete with treehouse, gazebo, water features and plenty of shaded seating.

I thoroughly enjoyed everything about Avo's. The food is really good... ya just feel healthy after eating their food. The bar has a great selection of beers. The staff is wonderful. Add to that some good music and a friend or two and you have a really great night.

Having family and friends who are vegetarian and vegan I always appreciate restaurants to cater to those preferences and also to an omnivore's palate like mine. The tempeh offerings were great whether as a burger or tacos. The soups and deserts were excellent as well. The sweet potato fries were perfect as a side.

Avo's is an institution by itself. It is laid back but don't think that means things aren't happening. Catch a band, enjoy the patio, book an event...in addition to a fast, filling reasonable and tasty meal anytime.

I've been to Avo's numerous times during my 9-year residence in Fort Collins, and agree that it has an interesting hippie vibe, decent food and is a great venue in which to see a band. (I'm especially partial to the patio.) However, the service is absolutely, hands-down, THE WORST in Fort Collins. The waitresses meander aimlessly throughout the establishment, picking up a stray glass here and there, occasionally asking if you need anything (but usually you have to flag someone down, and are even then often ignored). This is a consistent issue, so I can only blame it on the extremely haphazard and poor management. I really don't understand why this place has been open so long, but since it has, here are my suggestions - go to see a band and possibly to try the food, but order your drinks at the bar, and don't expect service because you aren't going to get any. If you should make the fatal error of ordering something from a waitress, expect to spend at least 30 minutes tracking her down when you are ready to pay your bill. Friendliness is also nonexistent - the people that work here are obviously inconvenienced by the presence of customers.

The BCNC meets here once a month for breakfast and the service and food has consistently been just fine. I have also visited the bar and it is a friendly and lively place that many college students frequent. Parking can be a little tight sometimes, but this is Ft. Collins. There is a cafe, a main dining area with a bandstand and the bar adjacent to the main room. The restaurant also has some nice patio seating.
