“Best in Fort Collins”
Reviewed February 25, 2013

As a Fort Collins native, I've eaten at just about every restaurant in town. This place takes the prize in service and food. They will go out of there way to take care of you. They have the best steaks in the area, maybe in Colorado. This is a great place to go for a special dinner or just some drinks while listening to a wonderful jazz band.

“Good food- very small portions”
Reviewed February 25, 2013

Cocktails were outstanding! Interiors are elegant and comfortable. The portions of the entrees are very small. I had the Ahi tuna and that was very good. The others had filet and the portion was very small for the price. We all joked about the green beans that we each recieved 7 green beans. Plate was pretty but we left hungry still. The service was excellent although we did not feel that the quality of the food and portion size justified the high dollar menu that they offer.

“IS IT REALLY WORTH WHAT THEY CHARGE FOR A MEAL?”
Reviewed February 21, 2013

We recently ate here, and found the service top notch, and atmosphere warm and inviting. With that said, even though the food was good, however it was extremely pricey with small portions. There are other restaurants that serve equally tasty food with good service at a price that is much more affordable. With that said, it was hard to pick a rating, so just picked average. Just be aware you will spend mucho here.

“Excellent happy hour menu”
Reviewed February 10, 2013

Jay's Bistro is my wife and I's favorite restaurant in Fort Collins, and we eat here at least once a month.

The service staff is 'second to none', and the menu continually changes bringing you a large variety of new dishes, while they continue to serve your old favorites year 'round.

The happy hour menu is extensive with a large selection of drinks and tapas/appetizer's to choose from...get there early however, as the place is crowded...reservations are recommended, but you can generally find a seat in the bar area after happy hour is over if you want to dine there at the last minute.

Jay's has recently completed a remodel which adds a lot of freshness to the interior...they still have a wonderful band playing in the bar that lends to the incredible ambiance.

I have been disappointed with the quality of the steaks served at Jays in the past, but honestly the menu has such a large variety that I do not miss steak at all when eating here.

Some of my favorites on the menu are the Wedge Salad, the Ahi Poke appetizer, the Rickett Martini, the Chilean Sea Bass, and the Bouillabaisse....additionally the bread is wonderful and comes with three different spreads.

You can spend a lot of money at Jays, but you can always find something of quality on the menu for the budget-minded patron too. This is the place to indulge your appetite in Fort Collins.

“Reliably wonderful”
Reviewed February 10, 2013

I have to say this is our favorite restaurant in Fort Collins. We live here and eat out quite often. Jay's is where our Valentine reservation is and where we often go on New Year's eve. Not that it is only for special occasions. We go there about once a month.
The atmosphere is inviting and warm. The staff have mostly been there a long time and they know us. The food is always wonderful and the drinks are perfect everytime.
It would be hard to pick favorite foods but I would definitely recommend the wedge salad, the shrimp or lobster bisque, the warm brie, lobster macaroni, or crab cake appetizers, and any scallop or salmon dish.
Jay's may be slightly pricey for Fort Collins but it is worth it for reliably wonderful food and drink. Also, the prices are actually quite reasonable if compared to Denver and I would say the value is better.
We tend to go on the nights that Mark Sloniker is playing piano and/or has a jazz band and sometimes vocals also.
Going to Jay's is any enjoyable experience, every time. That is where we go when we don't want to have to think about it. Where we know we can have a lovely evening.
