“Fabulous museum!”

Great for kids and adults that like to explore and learn! They have a lot of really cool interactive exhibits and great movies in the dome theater.

“A Place for all ages”
Reviewed August 5, 2014

Took the grandchildren and enjoyed as much or more than they did. There are many areas with sound and light variations, but also with pounding, blowing, strumming, moving, stacking and swinging actions. Allows the child to go at his or her own pace to explore the exhibits.

“Good for all ages, and great for kids!”
Reviewed August 5, 2014

What a fun way to learn a bit about Colorado history, including a lot of facts related specifically to Fort Collins. You'll find lots of hands-on opportunities for kids of all ages. That said, I don’t recommend visiting this museum with the expectation of a quiet, peaceful experience. The Museum of Discovery is entirely interactive and nearly every exhibit allows visitors to participate via sight, sound, touch, and even smell, which makes it an awesome place for families with kids. But adults will find the museum interesting as well – my group (three adults over age 35) enjoyed exploring the various displays and our visit took a little over an hour.

“Basically an indoor playground”
Reviewed July 26, 2014

My grandchildren really liked the diverse activities; the three-year old enjoyed building with blocks and the 5-year-old enjoyed the ball maze. They both enjoyed playing with light and sound. Bring a picnic lunch; no eateries in walking distance. The exhibits on transportation, wildlife, and Fort Collins history seem to be planned for an older audience and are more clearly educational. Not as well staffed as similar discovery museums elsewhere, but the staff who attend are very pleasant and enthusiastic.

“Trip with grandkids”
Reviewed July 9, 2014

Took grandchildren (7 and 5) on a weekday afternoon). Parking lot was full and needed to park on the street around the corner. Housed in a beautiful, new building. Kids enjoyed thoroughly for about 2 hours. Highlights were the Tornado Tunnel where they can have the sensation of @ 78 mph winds, the music garage where they can play electronic keyboard/guitar/drums, a lesson on leverage that allows them to raise a piano off the ground, and interactive displays with sound and light/colors. Educational displays related to the plains and fossils were opportunity to discuss the world. A well-spent couple of hours.
