Anywhere else this would be a top attraction, but I hadn't heard of it on previous visits to Colorado. We spent a morning driving eastward on the road thru the canyon and enjoyed the view at every turn. At the highest point there is a trail along the MIchigan ditch which is easy to follow and not steep and goes back into the forest - an easy walk despite the altitude. A fire in 2012 burned much of the eastern edge and rain brings mud across the road but it is recovering.
