We briefly lived in Poudre Canyon I can hardly wait for the day to come when I can buy a cabin up the Poudre. It has a fabulous history of potato farms and the explores of the west. All the critters you would want to see. A roring river that will blow your mind. And so much more all just on the edge of Fort Collins.

Okay, that's how it is pronounced here in Fort Collins. It is a beautiful canyon, a fast-moving mountain stream that has the additional credit of providing water from high-mountain reservoirs for the city and region. Rafting has become popular, but just a picnic by the edge of the river can be a religious experience! Don't miss it.

A two lane river road up into the Never Summer Mountain range. Crowded on nice weekends and during the summer. Great rapids during the spring for rafting. Several nice places to eat and State and National Forest picnic areas.

As a native Coloradoan I know this river and canyon. I want to do all I can to preserve this canyon area!

However, I can't help but think the City of Fort Collins is dropping the ball inside of the Old Town city limits area concerning this river! I very much believe in keeping the river wild in the canyon and foothills.

However in old town, the river area needs to be improved with cafes, walkways and entertainment. Consider the Seine River in Paris, France had it not been improved and urban. The city has a responsibility to utilize this under used city resource. I can't help but picture a dinner and a cocktail overlooking this wonderful river on a summer evening watching lovers, bicycles and kayakers going by.

As it stands now, I recommend enjoying this wonderful river views in the canyon, have dinner on the deck overlooking the river at the Legendary Mishawaka Amphitheatre in the canyon. Hopefully the city will get their act together someday and we will see a cafe over the river in Fort Collins. Until then enjoy the canyon and drive carefully.
