We stayed at the AmericInn in Windsor for one night - August 20, 2013 - and were pleased with the experience. The staff at check-in were courteous and efficient. The room was clean and comfortable. We had a 2-room king bed suite and for $114/night (AAA) (before tax) - it was a good price. There were only two negative aspects as follows: one of the wall plugs that we wanted to use only had one "hot" receptacle. As such, we had to unplug the alarm clock and bedside light so we could plug in our device for overnight use. This problem might have been resolved had we called the front desk but we didn't want a night time visit from a maintenance person. Second, there was only one kleenex in the box at the bathroom sink upon settling into the room. Again, we could have called the front desk for a full replacement box (and probably should have) but we feel that housekeeping staff should be able to keep such items stocked. Remember, those boxes of kleenex in hotels rooms always contain 3-5 yellow tinted tissues at then end of the box to serve as a reminder that a new box is needed soon! The breakfast served the next morning was very adequate and tasty. The dining area was very clean but a little small. They did have trays that you could take items back to your room on - and this is a nice amenity. One last observation, when we were checking out I overheard another front desk staff talking to a person who was inquiring about reservations and availability. The staff person quoted a rate of $174/night and explained that rates change seasonally and also due to activities in the area (I assume she might have been referring to the upcoming pro bike race that weekend). But I have to say this, there doesn't appear to be any room in the hotel that is worth $174/night. Yes, it's a nice, clean and well-staffed hotel. But for $174/night, take your money to a Hilton in Fort Collins and experience some luxury !!
