Not too far from downtown Ft. Collins. A huge recreation area with lots of great hiking. There is something for everyone, boating, biking, hiking and just plain relaxing. We were there on a weekday morning and we practically had the place to ourselves.

Whether you choose to boat, hike, climb, camp out, or just enjoy the beauty... Horsetooth literally has it all. Mountain biking and hiking paths are simple and gorgeous. This is heaven on earth for Coloradans.

Awesome place for hiking and a great view from the top of the mountain, even better if you get there to watch the sunrise

I visited Horsetooth during the day and night and it was breathtaking. The colors were so amazing...considering I'm from Texas and we have two seasons. I'd never seen colors like the ones in Fort Collins. The trees were beautiful, the water was relaxing and the weather was chilly yet comforting. My entire visit at Horsetooth Mountain was very nice.

Love the drive up to the lake. saw a young fawn grazing the hill side. the tip of the hill is shaped of a horse tooth.
