We went to Ace Gillett's without a reservation on a Saturday night and we were seated immediately. The place was busy but had seating for the four of us and everyone that greated us was very friendly. Our waitress was an expert on both service and the menu and made several recommendations that we all enjoyed for food and drinks. We all ordered mixed drinks from the specialty menu for the first round and every drink was delicious.

We stayed for over 2 hours and listened to a great jazz band and shared several items from the menu. The tapas were all very good but the mushroom and goat cheese flatbread was the highlight of the food. We ended up ordering three of these. The entire experience was excellent and we will definitely be back.

We came in with several couples to enjoy the live jazz, as well as a light dinner and some drinks. The jazz was nice and we enjoyed a variety of tapas items - both the Fall salad and the lamb poutine were excellent. Our server was both personable and efficient. The only disappointment of the evening was the mixology. I ordered one artisan cocktail, and then a refill of the same sometime later in the evening. The two drinks were as different as night and day. The first I enjoyed and the second not so much. In asking around we found that there has been change in the ranks of the mixologists, and this may have led to the different drinks.

Popped in to celebrate the little lady for publishing her first book. Drinks tasted great, I tried the Mon-o-war and the raspberry sage something or other that the little lady enjoyed very much. The tapas were super tasty and we enjoyed every bite. Keep in mind this is tapas so servings are not on the large size by ant means. Our server was on her game and super friendly wish I could remember her name. All in all we had a good time!

We stopped in this bar for convenience, as it was in the basement of our hotel. I️ can confidently say we will never return. This visit incited so much ire, it is difficult to write this post without a slew of profanities. We are in town as a large group, and about half of our party arrived 15 minutes earlier than the rest of us. Despite having a table with plenty of open seats for the second half of our party, the doorman refused to let us in because they were “at capacity”. He would not listen when we told him we already had a table. I’m not sure if they were just trying for an “exclusive” ambience, but this doorman was one of the most arrogant workers I️ have ever encountered in the service industry. After standing outside for 15 minutes waiting for other patrons to leave, we finally got to join the rest of our party. When we walked through, we noted that there were no standing patrons... I’m not sure what “capacity” they were at, but letting 5 people in definitely wasn’t going to violate their fire code. The one star in this review is awarded directly to our waitress, who was great at single handedly serving our large group. If you see a guy who thinks he is pulling off the Fabio look, just steer clear if you have a party larger than 4 people.
