In a town full of tacos, Las Salsitas are by far the best. Like an upscale version of street vendor tacos from Mexico, excellent.

absolutely my favorite mexican restaurant in town . closest thing to the street tacos in mexico that i've had here in the states. the food is fresh and flavorful, i love the tacos best def try both the carnitas and chicken chipotle. also their menudo is delicious and authentic-shame its only made on the weekends. prices aren't bad-comparable to chipotle or qdoba but for much better quality food

It took me awhile to discover this place because it doesn't have a huge sign, but it is tucked in next to IHOP on College (across from CSU). A friend of mine knew what a mexican food snob I am and she told me about this place Salsitas (aka 'Las Salsitas') and now it is the only mexican food that I will eat in Fort Collins! I always feel really healthy after I eat there - they don't use all the extra preservatives and junk that can make you feel kind of yuck after eating at other mexican food restaurants. Of course, you pay for this extra healthy and fresh food - its not the cheapest place on the block (although they are doing meal deals now on Tues and Weds) - and they don't serve extra large oversized gluttonous portions like other mexican food restaurants do, either (which frankly I like). Salsitas serves very traditional foods (my favorite is the 'sope' with carnitas, but they have lots of good vegetarian options too), so it is not just your 'burritos, tacos, and enchiladas' sort of joint (although they serve those too). Their salsas are really good too - my favorite is the habanero - but again this is more 'traditional' so their salsa is more like a 'sauce' - I was sort of used to typical thicker salsas when I first went there, but these salsas grow on you - try the habanero or jalapeno salsa if you like extra spicy! The service is friendly, and I recommend eating in if you can for lunch or dinner - some of the items like the sope's don't travel well and are best eaten right away. You can easily take their breakfast burritos to go, though, and they are seriously addictive - I now have to buy multiple breakfast burritos whenever I stop because my co-workers would never forgive me otherwise. My only complaint - they are not open Sundays.
