Ice Skating on Evergreen Lake is like Stepping Back in Time. People have been coming up from Denver for many years to ice skate on Evergreen Lake. Just make sure you check the weather before you drive up. It best if you pick a sunny day with little or no wind.

Nice one mile trail around the beautiful lake. The nearby golf course is a grazing spot for herds of elk.

Evergreen Lake and lake house is the gem of this mountain community about a half hour drive from Denver. There are many festivals during the summer. In the winter, you will find folks ice fishing and skating on the largest natural outdoor skating facility maintained by a Zamboni in the country. There is a nice trail around the lake, and easy access to historic downtown Evergreen. I live and work in this town and I love every minute of it! It is worth the trip for folks visiting Denver to get a feel for the mountain lifestyle. Very laid back, relaxed, and friendly, not to mention beautiful!

I love walking the lake....it's only about a 20 min walk around and u go thru several different outdoor environments.....the swampy boardwalk that the birds love, the boathouse, going over and around the damn and back along the highway to watch the people fishing (and ice fishing).
I consider twice around a decent workout!
Enjoy!

Stop at one of the many fine Evergreen restaurants, park at the Evergreen Lake Lakehouse afterwards and enjoy a 1/2 hour stroll around the lake. Approximately 1 mi around. Can be done in tennis shoes, but maybe not high heels.
