It’s a rare occasion when a New York native finds a slice of the real deal outside of the region, we still try though everywhere we go. Most times it leads to disappointment and surrender, but once in a while you will belt out an ecstatic …Oohhh Mama!
Anthony’s Pizza in Colorado is no exception to this special find. When you walk into any of the pizzeria’s this New Yorker built in a place so far away, you are taken aback by the authenticity of a back home, no nonsense establishment.
Either by the pie or by the slice you are instantly greeted with the proper aroma. The cheese is blended properly and mingles nicely with a sauce that is worthy of any of your favorite back home pies.
Test #1; yup- it folds perfectly, thin flavorful crust with a perfect end crust and beautiful color.
Test #2; yup- just the right amount of grease heads down the fold towards your wrist.
Test #3; Taste- Holy mother of god..This is the real deal! (even burnt the roof of my mouth just right)
I tried several of the Anthony’s (University Denver, Evergreen, and Downtown) and I’ll be damned if they are not all consistently quality experiences.

Anthony’s Pizza serves NY Pizza. Real NY Pizza. The kind that you fold in half to eat. It’s made with premium mozzarella cheese, hand tossed and served throughout the Front Range. There’s no excuse for you to eat any other pizza.
Canarsie Slice says “This is NOT NY Style Pizza, it’s damn good NY Pizza on a road trip!”
I give Anthony’s 7.5 Fuhgeddaboutit’s (amongst other Colorado offerings that’s BIG!)
