Went to Maggiano's for a birthday celebration. When we made the reservations, we were asked if we were celebrating something - told them what it was all about. Was expecting perhaps a simple cupcake or something at the end of our dinner with a candle; there wasn't even a mention of the celebration. Deal breaker? No... But for a place that should take pride on customer service, just even something would have been a nice touch.
Spinach and Artichoke appetizer was standard - was very good though. Maggiano's salad was a little more drenched in dressing than we would have liked; could have eased up on the blue cheese. Was told the salad was mostly romaine; it came out mostly iceberg.
Two of us had the balsamic salmon on cedar; both were tasty but charred a little more than it should have been. Realistically, they were plates that probably shouldn't have been served. Good though; just a little crusty and burned.
The other had the Rigatoni D - a specialty. Fantastic as usual.
Didn't bother with the extra expense of dessert - decided if nothing was going to happen for the birthday that we would enjoy a sweet elsewhere.
