The food seems to be a mixture of several Oriental influences. Korean noodles were amazing. I ate there every night I was able.

We picked this restaurant, because it was closest to our hotel and my husband wanted sushi as his birthday dinner meal. When we arrived we were promptly greeted and seated. Within minutes our server came over and introduced himself and took our drink order. The process between seating and the drink order was pleasant enough, it was everything after that, that we did not enjoy. I checked us in on Facebook, right after the waiter took our drink order. From the time I checked in to the time we got our sushi, it was 40 minutes. There were less then 8 tables in the restaurant that we could see, so I could not understand the reason for the long wait. After the sushi, it was about another 15 minutes before our plates came out. Our waiter seemed very distracted. Only came back to bring our food and only checked our drinks for refills once. My husband and daughters went to wait in the car while we waited another 15 minutes for him to come back to even bring boxes and our ticket. While we were sitting at the table a young lady brought over a table cleaning spray which she generously sprayed on two tables behind us. Whatever the spray contained, burned our nostrils and throats. This really bothered my because we had our one year old daughter at the table. The food portions were huge and tasty. The sushi was good as well. I wont not return to this place on any future trips to this area, based on the poor service and the harsh cleaning chemicals.

Have been going to Purple Ginger II for a few years and enjoying it for family outings, but we used to like it more. However, our past two trips have been very average food experiences at prices which are not a great value based on the meal (though presentation is still very nice). Call us finicky but we like a good meal over a good presentation, especially when prices are not cheap. Service continues to be on the ingratiating side (always has been) but we think that the food reflects whatever chef is in duty and consistency is lacking. For example, the spicy whole fish we ordered came with a bottled sauce on top of carrots and peas. Not a very common presentation. And the rest of the family's meals were pretty average. So we'll move on to some other Asian food destination. Thanks for the good meals we once had Purple Ginger: we enjoyed them and will kiss them.

The menu is broad: Chinese, Thai, Korean. We had the Udon and Sizzling Happy Family and a side order of kimchee. Food was fine. Hostess was friendly and so was our waiter. No kids menu or kid friendly glasses or silverware.

We went as a family, based on other reviews we found online. The food was very good; served quickly and beautifully. We are Sesame Chicken officiondos and the dish there was excellent. The Mongolian Beef was perfectly chewey. A surprise was the House Chardonnay...quite nice tasting for only $3. The ambience is upscale and pleasantly quiet with beautiful lighting, we will be back and with friends!
