“Goodfood, spectacular service”
Reviewed June 16, 2011

Good clean deli with counter service. Fast. Delicious breakfast sandwich and great coffee. I mistakenly left my wallet there and they used lots of ingenuity to get it to me about 40 miles away. I don't know the name of the individual that made the extra effort but it certainly made my trip lot easier. Thank you.

Best food at the price.

“Good basic soup, salad, & sandwich place”
Reviewed May 24, 2009

Found this place after discovering that nearly everything in Vail is closed from mid APR thru end of MAY. I was directed to the nearby Avon & Edwards area and came across the Smiling Moose. It is in a small one story building whose only sign is on the building behind a tree. I noticed it only because it had a goodly number of cars in the lot, most with local plates. I sat in the lot a short while to make a phone call and there was good traffic in and out indicating it was a popular place and was busy enough for the food to be fresh. There is a menu on the wall outside so you can see if they have something you like before you go in. My ham and cheese sandwich (a Yabba Dabba Doo on the menu) was piled high with tasty ham, cheese, lettuce, and tomato. Price was reasonable for the area. A friend had the turkey club sandwich which he said was also good.

“Great Sandwiches and Soup”
Reviewed November 30, 2008

This is great lunch place. the hot sandwiches are great and so are the soups. Breakfast sandwiches are also very good. Only down side is that's it's a little pricey for waht you get. Expect to pay 10 bucks or more for lunch.

“The best sandwich I've ever eaten, anywhere”
Reviewed September 1, 2007

I know this sounds crazy but this place is amazing. I think it's the fresh bread and ingredients used. It's no secret because they have opened three new locations in two years. I go here at least once a week and love every visit. The place is packed all the time- Ski season or not. The price of the meal usually approaches ten bucks which is expensive by sandwich shop standards but it's cheap by ski resort standards and it's worth every penny. Watch out subway, Blimpies and Panera their is a new king in town and they are coming to town near you some day hopefully soon.
Try the hot sandwiches, fresh made soups, fresh breakfast sandwiches, and the extra large homemade cookies.
