We live locally and always want to love this restaurant, however they always seem to fall short, usually this is a service issue. Chef Michael is no longer there which is unfortunate but the food was good last night regardless. We had a 8pm reservation. We called to make the reservation earlier in the day. The hostess made it clear that "regardless of what it looked like when we got there, they were very, very busy and not staffed to handle a full dining room." Upon arrival I would totally agree with her assessment. There were four, 4-6 tops seated. While waiting for "things to calm down" in the dining room, we enjoyed a glass of wine on the deck taking in the beautiful views! Food was great. The waitress was very nice but not very well trained. She was somewhat confused by our request for a bottle of Chardonnay. She served our very tasty bowls of crab bisque before our wine and once open she left it on the table without chilling it. The lobster dinners were good but served without the small forks. Not a huge deal but quite standard if serving a lobster boil. We shared desserts while they shut down the place around us. The apple betty was delicious as were the doughnuts. These were slightly dough-ey inside. Once we inquired, the waitress explained that these were not cake doughnuts, this was intentional and that she should have told us when we ordered them. I agreed. Again, we ate them all. In summary, you can't beat the views, food is still good but service needs some serious attention. Had I written a review a year ago, it would have been very similar. We'll be back in a few weeks to try it again!
