“Nice place, good value”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 28, 2011

Our room was very clean and had nice, updated decor. The hotel sits on the shore of the Animas River and there is a nice path to walk on directly behind the hotel. There is an Applebee's on site in case you get hungry. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The ONLY drawback is that the internet works very slow..........

We stayed here after our trip to Mesa Verde. We had a late arrival due to an evening tour, but they were pleasant and accomodated us. Even though it was close to time for the spa and pool to close, the desk clerk allowed us a little extra time to soak our sore muscles after all the walking and climbing we had done. We had a riverview room which would have been pleasant if the river had been at normal levels and we could have watched rafters traveling on it. However, it was flooded and rather wild and we only saw a couple attempt it during our stay and were afraid to try it ourselves. A walking path along the river runs directly behind the hotel. The hotel advertised breakfast, but when I aksed them admitted that it was only coffee and a package of oatmeal if we wanted it. They do have Applebee's on the premises, but their breakfast wasn't cheap. We had delayed booking due to trying to decide the best order to take our trip and missed saving 20% by booking two weeks early by one day. Wish we had known earlier! They do have a better rate on their website than I was able to find with any hotel broker. The decor is a little tired, but the beds were fine and that is what we cared about!

when this was booked it was a holiday inn,i did not realise it had changed owner ship.the position is good for all that dowtown has to offer.the room was clean but not very big,we had two holdalls and there was barley room to fit them in, good maid service.the WI FI ia disaster it just does not workabove dial up speed(thats when it worked).the pool is OK but small and with familys staying it can get crowded.our room faced the car park so there was no need to use the aircon unit which is quite large. My view of this hotel!! is somewhat clouded by the service we recived when we first arrived the girl started to check us in then took a call and from then on we were not her main concern bits of paper were pushed in front --no welcome just sign here and a scribble on a map of the place to show us where to go .so if you want a motel stay here if you are looking for better service go somewhere else. The applebeess attached was good

Room Tip: ask for a river room

I'll just say this - the bathroom and bathtub were SO CLEAN, I actually took a bath in the bathtub. Really.

The location...cant beat it. Animas on one side, downtown on the other. The perfect walk or bike to everything location.

GREAT staff!

Having stayed here numerous times when it was a Holiday Inn, I was a bit skeptical... but no need to be. Asked for an early check-in - easily accomodated - the room was right across from the indoor pool and spa - the landscaping was very well done. Grass was mowed - bushes trimmed - very nice atmosphere.

The rooms were the same - very nice - very clean - lots of soft pillows. Beds were soft - all was well - and they take pets for a nominal charge of $10....

The only thing is no free breakfast - they do provide coffee and oatmeal though. The reason for that is there's an Applebee's next door that provides room service. I don't usually order room service, but this time I thought I'd try - the food was warm - the service from Applebee's was quick and on time. They do charge to your room, which is nice if you want it.

This hotel is close to the downtown area, and not as expensive as the historic hotels on Main Ave - It's a great choice .....

I stayed at the Downtown Inn because I wanted to be within walking distance of the downtown area. I thought the room was in very good condition and was also very clean. I also thought the rate was reasonable so I will be staying here again when I return to Durango.
