The motel is in a real nice location, I had a nice shaded creek just out side my room. It seemed like I got one of the rooms for long term stay construction workers. There was stains on the chairs and carpet but the maids did a good job of cleaning the bathroom, towels, and bed sheets. The sink was unusually placed next to the bed, a distance outside the bathroom. It was ok for a budget traveler in expensive Durango.

I was traveling with my husband and our small dog. They put us in the rooms where pets are allowed..
Just because you travel with a pet doesn't mean you should have to sleep in a flithy kennel!
The smell of dog urine was overwhelming!
Dirty, dirty room.
It was late and we made the best of it, but will never stop there again!
If you travel with pets, La Quinta Inns are pet friendly and provide a clean beautiful room.

I have traveled extensively around the world, including in many third world and developing countries. This motel stands out as the worst experience in a lifetime of travel. To begin, the managers are beyond rude and disgusting; they really seem to hate their customers and will go out of their way to insult and/or avoid providing any assistance or service. And you will need lots of assistance if you stay here. The rooms, like the rest of the facilities are dirty, run down and very few things are in working order. The walls and floors are so thin that a neighbor walking around makes it sound as if you are trying to sleep inside of a bass drum Beware if you have children. We saw several apparent construction workers who were sleeping in their cars, that is when they were not drinking. This happened in the back of the motel where the Durango Police could not see this ongoing activity. In summary, don't ruin your vacation, find another place to stay. If this is the last motel in Durango that has rooms when you arrive, drive on to Bayfield or Aztec, NM. Both are about twenty miles down the road and it is worth the drive to avoid the creepy squalor of this motel.

We had stayed at this hotel last year and thought we would give it a second chance. On both occassions the resident manager and front desk staff were very rude. The rooms were dirty. There was also a group of construction workers living out of their trucks in the back parking lot. Overall it was a terrible experience.

The hotel has a good location near public tennis courts, Durango's great Rec Center and the river-side paved trail. The benefits of the location do not make up for dirty rooms and rude staff.

Durango really has few options for livable hotels for less than $100 a night during the summer.

All the reviews are true. I am traveling musician and we stay in all kinds of hotels. We have stayed in this same hotel several times because promoters of shows often put us there to save money. It really is among the worst hotels you will ever stay. I cannot say for sure, but one of our group got scabies about a month after staying at this place. In the past we have witnessed prostitution, drug dealing and other suspicious behavior going on in the rooms. Once the fire alarm was set off at 4am and no one came out of their rooms, except us. Durango police impounded and searched a vehicle for over 8 hours once in the parking lot. Take the advice of everyone here. Find a better place to stay.
