We came up to Durango from Phoenix (the weather is so much nicer!) and after a long mountain bike ride we asked around for the best pizza in town. Many people recommended this place. They have this great, whole wheat crust and plenty of toppings. Delicious! Our server was really helpful and actually quite entertaining. The restaurant was decorated with some interesting memorabilia, but it's fun to look at while you're waiting for your food.

The reviews in the local dining guide gave us the impression that the best pizza in town could be found here. We walked into a historic looking room with high-vaulted ceiling, decorated with a really interesting collection of items ranging from modern to early 1900’s. We waited around for a few minutes for someone to seat us, or even greet us. People behind us walked right in and past us to a room in the back somewhere.

The wait staff is primarily high school or college age teens. While the restaurant was not overly crowded, it took a very long time to be waited on. Our waiter was not the least bit courteous, and he was very difficult to understand because he grunted as he spoke. It took 10 minutes just to get two bottled beers. This was rather frustrating because we could hear him about 10 feet behind our table joking around with co-workers. For diner we order one of the “famous” pizzas. It arrived at our table about 25 minutes later. The pizza was not bad – though it no better than anything Papa Johns could make. Our waiter took even longer to give us the check and just slapped it down on the table without saying anything. We were not rude to him at any time. We simply paid the bill and left a 10% tip (reluctantly). As we were leaving, we vowed to inform others through the excellent forum that TripAdvisor.com provides to us all.

We advise staying away from this place and go to Carvers or Steamworks.
