This little restaurant has a great Victorian Era feel to it! I had the special, flat iron steak with a chili/coconut sauce that was really good. The roasted potatoes that came with it were not completely done though. My son is a chef and chose this restaurant to try and had a chicken dish ( I was really surprised that he didn't try to Elk ) and enjoyed his meal. It is probably one of the pricier restaurants in Durango, but it has a great atmosphere and good food.

Now THIS is a treat- from the atmosphere to the food. It is located in the Strater Hotel, which is an old Victorian type, and the restaurant is all wood and leather. Our waiter was nice and the price was great as it was a package deal with the melodrama. Included was either soup or salad, the main course of which you had a choice of four and a dessert. All four of us had the salmon, which was done to perfection. The wine selection was good, but not tops. This is a wonderful venue, which I would highly recommend.

We stopped in for a glass of wine, appetizer and salad before the Melodrama. Didn't have two of the wines on their list that the server recommended. Took 30 minutes to get the appetizer which was bread, tomatoes and garlic. Another 20 minutes to get salads. They did comp the appetizer but our tab was still over $60. Would not recommend and won't be back.

We were in Durango for an overnight stay, and decided upon the Mahogany Grille. We had an excellent dinner. Service was attentive but not annoying. Wonderful dining. We did not have a reservation, but we had an early dinner. I would recommend Mahogany for a relaxed fine dining experience.

This was a great way to spend a little time while waiting for the daily rain to stop. Had got there by train, and needed some refreshment. If you are in SIngleton, and want a great beer, visit, you will not be disappointed
