“One of the best galleries in the entire southwest”

Not just great for it's location but great for the entire region. Toh-Atin has been in business for a very long time and is till run by the original family, the son and daughter of the founder now. Excellent quality with no junk in the store. The staff is extremely knowledgeable in all areas of southwest native art. The focus of the shop has recently changed to buying collections from estates and families with no interest in what they own. This is bringing some very high quality old work into the shop. Every savvy buyer of Indian arts knows Toh-Atin, and if you have an interest in these wares, it's a must visit location in Durango.

“The best Native American arts in the west”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 9, 2013

We have visited Durango 3 different times since the 1990's. On every visit we have to visit Toh-Atin Gallery to see the finest examples of this unusual type of art. Everything from new artists to antiques, pots, rugs, carvings and beautiful jewelry can be found at this upscale store. All of the staff is very knowledgeable and they know many of the artists personally and have been buying from them for many years. If you are looking for the finest examples of southwest art, Toh-Atin is the go-to store.
Highly recommended!

“Expected a sales pitch; got an education..”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 28, 2013

We visited Toh-Atin Gallery on a Road Scholars trip to Mesa Verde. It was fascinating to learn about the history of this wonderful family owned gallery, and to see their pride in having represented Indian artists for decades. The love and respect the Clarks have for their artists is clear. How wonderful to find someone who clearly takes great joy in educating his customers about the art and artists - whether or not a sale is consummated. If you're in Durango, whether a fan of Indian art or not, don't miss this one.
