Description: The Palace Restaurant features classic American cuisine. Steaks, seafood, pasta, great sauces, homemade breads and desserts. You can elect to dine in our family-friendly Victorian tavern and order from our moderately priced tavern menu or sit in our elegant dining room and order from our fine dining menu. On our summertime patio, both menus are available. Our restaurant is located in a circa-1880 building and is styled with beautiful Victorian furnishings, such as dark woods and Tiffany-style lamps. Our dining room fire place makes for a romantic evening out in the winter and our tavern and patio are "local favorites." From casual to elegant, we provide a very special dining room experience, with great, classic food and a friendly staff. Please join us!

Chicken and Dumplings, order them. Seriously, you do not need to look at anything else on the menu as this is the best thing on there. The patio area is great, and if you are a train fan, it's even better.

The food here is reliably excellent, and the porch is lovely in season. However, at dinner time, the sound of diesel engine whistles is overwhelming as trains are being repositioned at the adjoining rail yard of the Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad. It would have been nicer to eat inside!

The day before zip lining, we ate at the train station for lunch. What a lovely place! It is beautiful there. Lots of trees and flowers. We chose to eat outdoors since it was such a beautiful day. You are right by the railroad tracks. If you go earlier or later in the day, you would be able to see the train making its' daily run. There are a plethora of food options. Something for everyone! Also, it's close to local shopping, so you can cruise up and down the streets of Durango, or maybe visit the train museum, which is very close to the train station. A great opportunity for children to get close up an personal to the local past history.

Was a pleasant experience. A very busy place. We sat down on the patio and watched the train come in. The service was decent but quite slow. Food was good,
Drinks were good. Price was so so. But it's all about the location!

The best burgers in town. Located right next to the train station it has a special ambiance for travelers or locals like myself. If you like salmon you'll like theirs. My husband orders it every time we dine there. He says it's the best in town too.
