Description: Steamworks Brewing Co. Opened its doors in Durango in September 1996. A favorite watering hole for locals and visitors alike, the brewpub has much more to offer than award-winning craft beer. Known as a town meeting place, Steamworks enjoys a bustling, fun environment. Steamworks' culinary program is unmatched in the region in both breadth and quality of offerings. The "gastropub" fare includes regionally-raised meats and sustainable seafood. Healthy salads, delicious pizzas, spicy Southwestern-style dishes, and vegetarian & gluten-free offerings provide something for everyone who's hungry. The Steam Engine Lager is "arguably the best American - Style Amber Lager in the world" as it has garnered four Gold Medals, a Silver and a Bronze Medal at the Great American Beer Festival (GABF) over the years and also has taken a Silver Medal at the World Beer Cup (WBC). Steamworks has won a total of twelve GABF medals, and two WBC medals. The brewpub maintains up to 18 styles of beer on tap.

Delicious food and excellent wait and bar staff. The Ale Diablo is amazing and so are the Bloody Marys!

“Dis Joint is Jumpin”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 21, 2012

Yoga Beara said, "nobody goes there anymore because the place is too busy." It was a very long wait, but in hindsight well worth the time spent wandering Main St. in Durango for approx.one hour waiting for a table on a Saturday evening. Loved the brews, and the menu items were excellent. It's a chaotic place with families, couples and large tables. I see why people wait.

“Steamworks Brew-pub”

Beer is fantastic, what a variety. In a town full of micro-brews, Steamworks stands head and shoulders above the rest in beer and food.

“Classic”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 19, 2012

We have visited Steamworks Brewing nearly every trip to Durango. Food and drink have always been good and never had any complaints. They always have new types of beer on tap. Don't be shy and ask for a sample. If you like it then get the pint.

“Great brewpub”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 17, 2012

Had dinner there twice recently. Beer and food were good both times, and I can recommend the Cajun boil as something to experience at least once. The first time we sat in the bar which is a much better experience than the backroom. I definitely recommend Steamworks but perhaps not on a Saturday night when they are very busy.
