“Growing fish near a beautiful river”
Reviewed October 18, 2013

The wildlife museum was closed so we walked through the fish hatchery. It was not guided and only had a few signs of explanation so not a big deal to see. Although it was a beautiful day and it is next to the Animas river and bridge with a walking trail so we really enjoyed our time there.

“Looked like fun.”
Reviewed September 17, 2013 via mobile

Just be aware that the fish hatchery is only open to the public from May 15 to September 15. Alas, we were here on Sept 16th.

“Best quarter I ever spent”
Reviewed August 30, 2013

This is a great little stop off . It is free to walk in. For a quarter you can feed the fish, which is fun to watch them flock.

Took our seven year old grandson. We all had a great time. The facility is totally run on donations and by volunteers.

“Family Fun”
Reviewed August 15, 2013

We took our 2 children for the afternoon and they enjoyed seeing the mounted animals up close. They loved feeding the fingerling rainbow trout and watching a video on the hatchery process. It was educational and best of all FREE. The volunteer there was very friendly and explained some of the new animals that were donated. Also, you are close by the Animas River Trail to explore.
