“Worth the drive out of town”
Reviewed June 26, 2013

My husband and I took a short overnight trip to Durango and heard about Honeyville in the little area guide in our hotel room. When we found out that it was out of town a little ways we debated over whether we should go or keep up with seeing other sights with what little time we had left. We are both really glad we decided to go! It was neat to see all of the products that could be made with honey and we tasted some of the honey wine that they sell. The Raspberry and Apricot honey wines are particularly excellent! An added bonus was getting to see the bees they keep (safely contained) inside the store. They also had a window where you could see their production line bottling what looked like the drink mixes they sell. It was worth a little extra drive and our time going out there.

“Honey Wine and Whiskey?!”
Reviewed January 26, 2013 via mobile

They can't sell the whiskey, yet, but we bought 3 bottles of wine, elk jerky, honey pot, lotion and chocolates. They have a beehive indoors! I love that it is mostly locally made. Everything was wonderful.

“Honey-Yaki Sauce is Yum”
Reviewed October 22, 2012

Honeyville makes a great sauce to cure and cook meat with called Honey-Yaki. We buy it by the case and use it to marinate meat. You can see the bees working in a glass hive. Great flavored honeys, jams and jellies. Just about 2 miles from the north end of town and worth the drive up...especially on the way to Silverton.

“Seriously, it is JUST a place to buy honey.”
Reviewed September 11, 2012

Somehow some ad we saw somewhere gave us a false idea about Honeyville. We envisioned a store located on a working bee farm. The reality is that it is a small shop with lots and lots of honey and honey-related goods for sale. There is a small glass beehive inside where you can view the bees at work.

“Love, Love, Love Honey!”
Reviewed August 25, 2012

Okay, if you love honey on everything - you've got to stop here. So many delicious choices: regular honey, syrups, jellies, soaps, etc. The staff are very friendly and helpful too! Oh, and plenty of seating (outside) for those uninterested folks in your group (uhhum, husband).
