“Southwestern Pizza”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 18, 2012

We stopped in at Fired Up Pizzeria for lunch the one day and it was really good! We had the southwestern specialty pizza and it had a little kick to it but not too much. I just wish you could get a bigger pizza than 12" but other than that it's really good. They were very friendly and helpful. If you go you HAVE to try the Basil Lemonade. It sounds weird but it's really good.

“Number 3 restaurant in Durango ?? Not really!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 15, 2012

As a long time Durango resident I am surprised to see this ranked as the number 3 restaurant in town. The pizza is not bad at all and Fired Up is probably in the top 3 pizza places in town, but certainly not one of the top 3 restaurants. It is more a store than a restaurant but is does have a seating area which can handle (uncomfortably) 15 or 20 so persons. At the time we visited, 7 p.m. on a weekday evening, there were only a few other customers so the staff should have had time to sweep the floor.

The pizza is very good and fresh but overpriced for the small size.

“Finally a real brick oven pizza here! The way a Margarita Pizza should be..”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 1, 2012

This is something I've been waiting to try for a long time, reminds me of Todd English restaurant called olives i worked for in Aspen. The brick oven delivers a wonderful unique taste that i have missed so bad!! They went out of there way to make me one of these thin delicious pie's when they had just finished a hot day of slanging pies to all the tourists in town.. I crushed it, it tasted sooo good! 5 0f 5;)

“Great Pizza”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 18, 2012

My son and I stopped in for dinner passing through Durango based on other Trip Advisor reviews that touted the wood fired pizza and thin crust. It was not a mistake. The ingredients were fresh and included a wide variety with toppings not generally seen. Lots of decisions to make. The pizza is prepared in full view. Interaction with other patrons is likely because of the small size of the restaurant.

We fell into a conversation with Tad, the owner. He has a great management philosophy on retention of employees and is about to move to a larger location at 743 Main Street in a few months. When I mentioned that the Diablo Pizza (with jalapenos) looked interesting, he said he was having one done for his dinner and offered me a slice. I would predict a bright future for an entrepreneur with a great philosophy and a wonderful product.
