You may feel you're stepping back in time when you enter The Office, but the room is active, comfortable and inviting, with comfy leather stools at high tables. Drinks are good and presented
well (martinis poured from chilled decanters at your table). Appetizer menu offers a variety and is perfect for a light supper.
We were there on a Tuesday night and were pleasantly surprised when Singer/Songwriter
Tim Sullivan began playing guitar. The Office was full of people who appeared to be locals -
always a good sign!

We had drinks and artichoke spinach dip that was delicious. The atmosphere was wonderful, with old law books and Victorian style furnishings. Great place to stop in and take a load off.

Fancy spot, but great 1/2 price appetizers during Happy Hour. Try the Calamari....it was so good, I had 2 helpings. The bar tenders were good, fun, and there is entertainment.

Four of us had lunch in the Strater saloon restaurant, with entrance right off Main Ave. We weren't in the interior "Office" restaurant and bar. We were each happy with our meal, the service was excellent and very friendly.
As we were leaving, a rain downpour kept us inside for 30 minutes so we explored the lobby and other public spaces of the hotel. It's an extraordinary old Western property, that was the height of extravagance in that relatively small town, 125 years ago with elaborate woodwork and stained glass....a museum in itself.
We were glad that Mother Nature detained us so that we took the time to appreciate that elegant "old lady of the west."
