My husband and I have skied all over CO & UT. We are not experts but we do know what we're looking for in a ski area! Not too big, but big enough, good value, half day passes offered (as we aren't interested at getting up at the crack of dawn to get our money's worth) good restaurants & bars and of course free parking! This fits the bill across the board! Enjoy a day of skiing not crazy crowds!!!!

The weather was perfect - sunny, a light breeze, high 50's - so I knew it was going to be a great day for skiing in Southwest Colorado. My friend decided to take me here over another resort because it was a bit closer to Durango. Although there wasn't a fresh snowfall, the conditions were very good for early March.

This is one of our favorite places to Alpine ski in Colorado. The entire mountain offers a great selection of long and varied runs with incredible views. Fun for all levels of skiers.

Beautiful, but strenuous! We did this the day after arriving here from Texas. It was packed powder and a little difficult to trek in. A girl in our tour group of five had to sit down at the first rest stop. She and her friend took a shorter route with one of the 2 guides in the group. Our 60+ group of 3 trekked on for a couple of miles. We enjoyed the rest stops and photo ops along the way. You need to be in shape for this, but you'll see things others on the slopes and down the mountain do get to enjoy.

The snow was great and the crowd wasn't too bad for a long weekend (Presidents' Day). The ski lift staff were all friendly. The food is very expensive though. May want to pack a lunch and just purchase drinks at the lodges.
