“Great skiing!”
Reviewed December 9, 2011

The mountain is a great place to ski, under-rated in our opinion! Great mix of locals to meet and hang out with!

“Durango skiing, boarding and dining”
Reviewed December 6, 2011

Check out Durango Mountain for friendly skiing and snow boarding. Spent 2 days on the newly opened mountain (for the winter season) where I have been vacationing with my wife and 4 kids (now all grown up) for the last 8 years or so. Enjoyed the accommodations on the mountain and the friendly staff.
Great fresh new track on the fresh powder last week end.

“Great family mountain (getting) corporate”
Reviewed November 28, 2011

Purgatory Mountain (now awkwardly called "Purgatory at Durango Mountain Resort" or PADMG, or PAG, or DMG, or, [well, nobody local calls it anything but Purgatory]), is a great, local, family friendly mountain in one of the last ski towns in Colorado. The almost-wholly ineffective repurposing of the ski area as an Aspen-like, MBA-vetted condominium sales juggernaut in a town primarily populated by people who avoided of fled all that was effectively flummoxed by the bottoming out of the real estate markes ("act now! $200,000 off today, only!"), making Purgatory once again the bane of investors and a great place to ski, even though the Corporation cut funding to some of its greatest supporters, such as the all-volunteer adaptive sports program, which is one of the best in the world. Again, when you have to discount your condo outbuild project by more than a hundred thousand bucks, somebody in corporate is being downsized, but that doesn't help the little people.

“DMR is best during off peak times”
Reviewed November 20, 2011

I've been to DMR many times over the past several years and I enjoy it most during low season. If your schedule permits take advantage of low season prices for the discounted room and lift ticket packages. Also, it's a great place to stay during the summer. During the evening the views are spectacular and it will feel like you have the whole place to yourself. Further, summer rooom prices are usually much less than a standard hotel room near downtown. The extra drive is definitley worth it.

For ski season there's a nice mix of skilled and not so skilled runs and plenty of offerings for the whole family. The snow at DMR is not as good as Wolfe Creek, which gets the most snow in Colorado, but Wolfe Creek does not offer slope side lodging. Overall it's a great all around vacation spot.

“Summer Fun on the Mountain”
Reviewed September 9, 2011

Summer is a great time to enjoy Durango and especially the activities at Durango Mountain Resort. The alpine slide is always a ton of fun for families. The scenic chairlift ride is also a nice way to spend the time. There is food and shopping in the plaza and biking, zipline, and hiking for those adventurous folks.
