Ann Rapp runs a first class operation north of Durango and her employees are all cordial and well trained. We took a family group on a sleigh ride and had a super time. The sleighs are comfortable and the wranglers are informative and friendly. We rode with Joe who could not have been more outgoing.

My handicapped son was not along on this trip but I always check out the accessibility of any place we go and would not hesitate to bring him on this outing. We will probably return this summer to do a ride in to the high country.

An easy drive north of Durango, the folks at Rapp Corral are friendly and attentive. A nice little waiting area with hot chocolate and candy to watch as your sleigh is hitched up to the team of horses. Nick, our sleigh driver took us on a great 45 minute tour around the lake with a stop to play in the snow, which the kids loved. A nice, peaceful and quiet way to expereince the San Juans. We chose this in lieu of the Santa expereince because we really wanted to expereince a horse drawn sleigh ride through the forest...which we did!

We booked the 2hr ride and cave excursion based on the great reviews- and as experienced riders, really enjoyed it! We went the first week in October (day before Rapp Corral ends trail rides for the season!) when the leaves were changing colors, and the scenery was spectacular. The terrain varied- from the flat meadow pasture it felt like a quick ride to some steep and narrow trails up the mountain. The cave provided an opportunity to get out of the saddle and explore more. Horses were great. Our guide was young and quiet, but pleasant, and when asked, provided fun facts about the area. Overall, a great experience that i would recommend to experienced and novice riders alike.

The four of us seniors took the 2 hour cave ride this morning. Everything about it was great! The horses were well suited to our abilities, our wrangler, Michelle, was fun, professional and knowledgeable and the ride was spectacular. The aspens and ground cover are turning which made it a breathtaking ride through the forest. The hike down to the cave was a little challenging for some of our party and I do suggest that you were hiking boots, but it is well worth the effort. We went back into the back of the cave with flashlights which was pretty cool. The terrain was varied not the normal flat walk on a dusty trail. Overall, I highly recommend Rapp Corral for a rocky mountain riding experience!

I took the cave ride with Rapp Corral and I am a horse owner and lover. The ride was so incredibly beautiful, and the horses handled the rugged terrain very well. Anne is very knowledge, She provided headlamps and a personal tour into the cave. I have to say all the horses there are very well cared for, obviously well trained, and very good looking to boot! I would highly reccomend this ride and her facility, but note to the people who think "running" a horse is what trail riding is about.this would not be in the best interest of the horse or you. This is terrain with lots of rocks, up and downhill, etc...it is a walk, and meant to be savored and enjoyed.
