Owner description: Hop aboard a coal-fired, steam-powered locomotive that travels along the same railroad tracks that miners, cowboys and the early settlers of the Old West used over a hundred years ago. The route winds in and out of canyons and past open wilderness affording great views. The price of a ticket also includes admission to the D&SNGRR Museum and the Silverton Freight Yard Museum.

“Silverton Train”
Reviewed July 19, 2014

Liked: The views fantastic, the train Yankee recently redone and picturesque. Our server, Irene extremely knowledgeable and gave great service. The town of Silverton very cute with lots of great restaurants.

Dislike: Deceptive advertising on the wine train. As it was written up the stated two "samples" in the morning and two on the way back. I had two total and my wife had the two in the morning and two in the evening. We were charged for two of the wines as was another couple. There was no notification to tell us this and the wine menu never mentioned the cost of the wine.

“Awesome Trip!!!!!”
Reviewed July 19, 2014 via mobile

If you can't give this five stars you simply don't get it!!! My boys and I rode the bus up and the train down. Silverton is full of history and great people. I could easily spend all day, or even longer, there. The train ride down was equally as great. We had Chipeta the narrator on our car. She was great fun and very informative. She pointed out things that if you were not in our car you simply didn't get to see. I cannot say enough as to how much fun we had today! Sure it's a little pricey but when you stop and realize the overhead they have it's really a great value.

We took the D&SNGRR to the zip line tour along the way. It made for a great day. The views were tremendous. Well worth it.
