“Good Food, Service, & Atmosphere”
Reviewed May 23, 2014

My wife and I had dinner here on a Wednesday night. The Diamond Belle Saloon is part of the Stater Hotel that dates back to the 1890s.

We both had the French Dip and both were good. Service was prompt and pleasant. There are costumed "dance hall" girls and bartenders.

After 500pm there is live music. It was an enjoyable experience. I suggest you try it and look the history around the Stater Hotel lobby.

The Hotel also hosts a melodrama theater.

“The Diamond Belle was very good”
Reviewed May 22, 2014

We had lunch at the Diamond Belle Saloon, a very pleasant, uniquely decorated restaurant. The service was excellent and the food was very good. I had the Tomato Basil soup with 1/2 a BLT and the wife had the Philly Cheese steak which was too big for her to finish, especially with a load of homemade fries. The iced tea and the Durango Dark Lager was good. The ladies are dressed in period costumes and are quite nice! Overall a pretty good place.

“Great Drinks Great Prices!”
Reviewed May 22, 2014

For being a bar within a hotel the prices were actually rather nice. The atmosphere is fun and the staff are super friendly. The drinks are pretty fantastic! Look forward to returning!

“Great Historic Restaurant”
Reviewed May 21, 2014

Located in a hotet built in the 1890's, this beautifully restored saloon is not only fun, but a good place to eat. I was here for lunch and although a good sized crowd was present everything went very smoothly. My meatloaf dinner was very good. On a whim I ordered a banana split for desert. It was enough for two people. A bit pricy, but worth it for the experience.

“Wow, what a disappointment!”
Reviewed May 20, 2014

I had done a lot of research on restaurants before our trip to Durango, and it sounded like this restaurant would be a fun, historic place to eat on our last night. We were especially excited to see the waitresses in costume and hear the live music. We were VERY disappointed! If you expect to get served in any reasonable amount of time, give this place a miss. It took 40 minutes for them to even check on our food (all we ordered was soup/salad). The waitresses seemed more interested in chatting up the fellas that walked in, instead of attending to their tables. We eventually walked out WITHOUT eating since our food never came. The manager even had the nerve to argue with us when we asked for the check and insisted on just paying for the drinks. I would definitely NOT return...regardless of the atmosphere.
