“..a great KOA - and they're constantly improving it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2014

..stay here quite a bit over the summer, and it is a A+++. It was named one of the top 10 KOAs by Trip Advisor, and it's no wonder.

The Kabins are cozy, especially the "couples kabin", where they have a TV, a frig and a queen sized bed (very comfortable). The only thing you have to bring is linens. The Deluxe Kabins are also very, very nice!!!! They have a queen bed, small room w/bunk beds, bathroom, small kitchen. The room is very homey, and the hosts provide cooking utensils, quilt on the bed, coffee pot w/coffee, and other niceties!

The staff is extra nice, and they know me and the kids!!!! They have added a mine where kids can pan for gems. It does cost $$, but everyone gets some really nice gems when they pan. A great added touch!...

Everyone complains about the highway noise, but I never notice it! It really isn't that loud!!!

A great stay!!!!

Lovely! There is a movie every night, pancakes every morning, home made pie, fresh made pizza delivered to your site , miniature golf, two dog parks and a pool. That is not even the best part- the cleanliness is!

We stayed in one of their two room cabins (without a bathroom) and we were very pleased. It was roomy and very clean. The cabin was located just across the creek from the main office, so going to the restroom and shower was convenient. The night we were there they were doing an ice cream social for $1 per scoop. We all got 2 scoops and we got more than our money's worth! The gentleman dishing up the ice cream was very generous, and we loved all the topping options available. The campground is VERY clean as are the bathrooms/showers. Our kids got a kick out of walking through their garden, and enjoyed playing at the playground. We will definitely stay here again the next time we are visiting Durango.

Great place to stay if you are in the Durango area. Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice campsite with trees. There is road noise but it wasn't that noticeable to us but we were in a motorhome. We loved the pizza and being able to have it delivered was great, especially after a long day of driving. The bathrooms were clean. The pool looked good but it was too cold to swim the day we got there. Our only issue was with the internet, hard to connect to and it wasn't that reliable but wasn't that big a deal as we had other things to do. Definitely would stay here again!

Nice KOA, with small pinon pines and juniper, gravel, dirt roads, small mini golf course, and a small heated pool. Typical friendly staff, and the store has decent basic groceries, firewood ($6 for a small bundle), and charcoal. There is a Super Walmart and a Home Depot about 10 minutes away. Site was pretty level and a had a charcoal grill. However, the sites are not consistent, so be clear what you want. We got there a little late, so our site was small and did not have a fire ring. Also, neither the cable nor the wifi were working. They apologized but pretty much told us that we could use the wifi at the store. After several days at primitive sites, this was supposed to be our catch-up day. So, okay overall, nothing super special, and call ahead to ensure the site you have been assigned has what you are looking for.

Clean, beautiful, convenient, plenty of stuff for kids, friendly staff, decent size sites with decent privacy. It's a bit close to the main road, but other than that, really just about perfect. Nice having food for sale if we don't feel like cooking.

We enjoyed our stay here for 3 nights. I think this is our fourth trip to the area from Texas and will stay here on future visits. The staff was very helpful and courteous. The owners Carol and her husband are great folks. He cooks wonderful pancakes and makes a delicious pizza.
