“Durango Jeep Tour - LaPlata Canyon”
Reviewed September 22, 2013

This was the highlight of our trip. Phil was our guide and he was great! He loved the area and it showed. He was very knowledgeable and he seemed to enjoy this trip just as much as we were enjoying it. He said it never gets old to him. This was a great way to experience the beauty of the mountains up close. We saw wildlife, waterfalls, cabins, avalanche paths, etc. all the way to the top. This trip is a must and we would highly recommend this to anyone. I am very afraid of drop-offs and edges of high places, but I was never afraid on this tour, so if you are in doubt, don't back out. You will miss out on a great trip!

“Great for kids”
Reviewed September 21, 2013

We went rafting on the economy trip of the Lower Animas. My son is 7 and he had a fantastic time. He asked if we could paddle up the river & then come down again. We were in a group of 9 people (6 of them kids) and everyone loved it. Thank you to James who was a great guide & made the trip really fun.

“Awesome White Water Rafting Day”
Reviewed September 21, 2013

We weren't sure what rafting would be like in the fall but with Colorado's recent rains, they said it was good. We had a fantastic day! Don was our guide. He not only made it so much fun, but was knowledgeable about things along the way. We had a blast and since we're from Arizona, we can't wait to have Don take us down the upper Salt River in March. We will definitely be back here too.

Thanks so much for your review of Don and our company. We look forward to sharing more adventures with you this spring (late Feb-May) on the Salt, and more back in Colorado!

“4x4 back-country expedition around Silverton”
Reviewed September 12, 2013

Eric, our guide, met us on time at the train station in Durango and drove us up to Silverton for our 4x4 back-country adventure in the gold mining area north of Silverton. We drove past the old mines, wash plants and remnants of gold miners from the early 1900's. The scenery was awesome and the history of the area was well told by Eric, including old photos and maps. The trip is over rather rough roads and with the open vehicle the wind and sun require some additional protection, I recommend hats, sunglasses and sunscreen. At the higher elevations, you may need a additional clothing to keep warm. The most spectacular view is when you cross over the California Pass at almost 13,000 feet. Primitive bathrooms are available on the route.
You arrive back in Silverton in time for lunch and shopping before boarding the train back to Durango. Great scenery on the first part of the trip back, but once you leave the canyon, the slow pace of the train makes the trip about an hour longer than I cared for.

“Great experience for families with small children!”
Reviewed September 2, 2013

Our girls (ages 4 & 7) felt comfortable from the time we entered the raft. The 2 hour Animas River tour provided just the right amount of excitement without overwhelming the kids. Will was a very knowledgeable and friendly guide.

The cost was reasonable and the photo package was well worth the extra money. The smiles captured in the pictures are priceless and will make wonderful souvenirs.

Thanks for an enjoyable experience! We will definitely come back next year with the entire family!
