We stayed here in September on a road trip visiting the national parks of the south -west. When we arrived we were feeling unwell after a terrible food experience at a previous lodging. Jodi and Walther could not have been more helpful and understanding with some very effective remedies. Unfortunately our delicate state meant we were unable to do justice to all the excellent food provided by Walther and restricted our socialising with the other guests. However we appreciated the wonderful accommodation, very comfortable bed and amazing views of the valley and the birds on the verandah. Also the fact that Jodi was able to book us a seat on the train to Silverton which we were able to join nearby at Rockwood rather than drive down into Durango to get on.
This was the best place at which we stayed in three weeks in the States and we would highly recommend it to anyone.

I can't really add to the glowing reviews which have already been posted. We were so cross that we hadn't booked to stay longer!. Everything was perfect especially the evening chat around the dining table with other guests. It wasjust like a very comfortable evening with friends. Unfortunately, we were not feeling too well and couldn't take full advantage of Walther's wonderful breakfast but we will make up for that next time we stay!! If I ran a B and B I would want it to be as good as this.

My husband and I spent 2 evenings with Walter and Jodi, as we traveled to see the Aspens change. We wholeheartedly agree with other reviewers. Their service is outstanding. From cookies and desserts to scrumptious breakfasts, to the little touches that make you feel special, they do it completely right. Our charming Columbine room was on the lower floor. Yes, it is true, you can hear the movement overhead. If this is something that would bother you, there are rooms uptairs that you can request. But, honestly, it in no way detracted from our lovely stay. We would stay downstairs again in a heartbeat.
The common refrigerator is stocked with water, soda, wine and local brews. The downstairs fireplace will be a great gathering place when we return for a longer stay with our children before Christmas. The grounds are very peaceful, with lots of places to sit a while and take in the beauty.
They were eager to share eating options and destinations for your day out. We took a beautiful, early morning walk to Baker's Bridge. Ask for printed directions.
We enjoyed chatting with other guests around the fire pit at night. And, we ate breakfast out on the patio the first morning.
Do not hesitate booking at Country Sunshine. It will become a favorite.

This is an absolutely fabulous bed and breakfast. The location is perfect if you are touring in this area of Colorado, but best part of our stay was the hospitality shown to us by Jodi and Walter. Immediately we walked in we felt more like friends than paying guests, and this feeling was re-inforced throughout our stay, so that we were truly sorry when we had to leave. We really could not fault any aspect of Country Sunshine, from the luxurious accommodation to the fabulous breakfasts and evening desserts, and not forgetting the fresh cookies and refreshments that were always available. We have stayed in many b&b's around the world, but this one is right up there with the very, very best.!.
