Thiis hotel invited comments on Tripadvisor so on their own head be it. This was a one-night stay. The ground floor of this hotel is attractive and well laid-out, bar meal was fine and all staff were very helpful and friendly. Upstairs was a different matter....one wall light and both bedside lamps not working, and cold tap for the bath stiff to turn, water only trickled out before tap jammed up completely. This was the morning we were leaving so too late for a change of room. On arrival, spent a while hunting for the TV remote control only to be told we had to pay a £10 deposit for it as some remotes have gone walkies - so the hotel management's genius solution is to assume all guests are potential remote thieves. Charming. Won't be back.

Room Tip: Check the plumbing and lighting before you unpack.

Firstly, this hotel is not in magherafelt, but is located on Maghera's main street. Free parking is available opposite the hotels side entrance on the coleraine road.

Went here for a family meal and had a very positive experience. Guests can choose to eat in the bar but I would recommend the Silverhill restaurant. It has a cosy, friendly atmosphere with attentive staff. Meals are well presented and reasonably priced. I would recommend the spicy chicken as a starter. Special offers are available on starters and mains up to 8pm, even on Friday nights.

Arrived on Sunday, our room wasn't ready so we decided to have lunch in the restaurant. Service was very good, very friendly and attentive. However, when my meal arrived it was freezing cold. Got my dinner reheated, I would have expected it to be reheated on to a fresh plate but unfortunately no.We got desserts and sat for quiet sometime without any cutlery. Went to check in, keycard didn't work, had to go back to reception.the bedroom had a very strong odour especially the bathroom. No ventilation in the bathroom. Curtains smelt bad,Walls looked like they had 't seen paint in a long time. Beds very comfortable, very noisy from nightclub, breakfast buffet consisted of cereal and juice, would have expected, breads and fruit. Overall it was a bit disappointing, if visiting the area again would def look else where before walsh's again, on saying that I must compliment the staff, they were all extremely helpful.

Sorry to hear of your disappointment regarding your recent stay.

Check-in time for guests is 4pm, although we do endeavour to check our guests in as early as possible.

I have passed your comments regarding your dining experience to our Restaurant Manager.

Breakfast is by order and served to the table, any specific requests will if possible be met .

We are currently finalising plans for the refurbishment of our bedrooms, which we hope to undertake very soon.
