The cabin was awesome! I loved having the kitchen; it was so covenient! The hot tub was definately wonderful too! I would definately recommend this cabin, and the other cabins looked great too. I was a little worried about the drive every morning to Rocky Mountain National Park, but it wasn't bad at all! Thanks for making our stay great!

Annie’s Mountain Retreat My girlfriend, (now fiancé) and I stayed at The Carriage House outside Estes Park in July 2007 for 4 nights. This cottage is on the owner’s property on a mountain hillside next to their house and could not be nicer! It is upstairs in a separate building and decorated in the cowboy theme. This unit has a GREAT hot tub downstairs in a hot tub area complete with a sky window and again decorated in the cowboy theme.

The cottage kitchen was well stocked with everything including spices, condiments, plates, pots, pans, electric stove, full size frig, full sink and everything you could need. The bathroom in this unit has a large soaking tub, a separate shower and the towels were thick and large and again well stocked with shampoo and body scrubs.

The bedroom is nice, cozy and the has a full sized four poster, notty pine canopy bed, two night stands with country theme lamps, chest of drawers, closet, sound machine, cd player and floor fan. There were robes to use and slippers to wear to the hot tub.

The living room was cozy with an overstuffed chair, small couch, large matching footstool, satellite TV and candy on the end table. The review book for this unit goes on and on with raves about the place in regards to the cute decorating and comfortable stays enjoyed by past guests.

The night before we were to leave, we sat and watch an elk in the front yard for almost and hour. He was enjoying the water fountain and salt block along with the beautiful mountain scenery. On the last morning as I loading to leave a mule deer and fawn strolled by not bothered with me at all.

The area is surrounded by towering pines and clean mountain air. We enjoyed this as our base for driving Trail Ridge and Fall River Roads, exploring in RMNP and shopping in Estes Park. The owners could not have been nicer although very busy with the additional cabins and cottages. They spoke of the units down the Big Thompson River and if these units are anything like the Carriage House you can bet on a GREAT stay.

We will return and hope to stay in another of there units. Thanks Annie and Craig for a great experience!

Expensive boutique like setting with all the ammenities. Internet shows a charming carriage house to stay in. They dont show you all of the JUNK around the carriage house and in the neighbor's yards. Way too expensive for the location. Stay in one of the nice places on the river like Boulder Brook or some of the others. Look out at the pristine Fall River instead of homes that look like Larry the Cable Guy lives there. Just my thoughts... but I won't go back for that reason.

Although we always appreciate feedback we were taken aback at the comment regarding our property that the Carriage House is located on.
This unit had only been up and running for about 7 months when this guest stayed with us.(2006) It had previously been an art studio and had not been used as lodging. Since the guest did not verbalize to us their concern we are only able to speculate what they meant as far as the area around the Carriage House looked "junky". Our closet neigbor did have some things on the backside of his home that have been cleaned up. We also live on the same acrerage and at that time may have still been working on the parking area for the Carriage House, etc.......but again.....we are not sure what they meant by their comment.
We have been renting out the Carriage House now for four years and have had many a happy guest. We were very saddened to think that any guest staying with us was not pleased with any part of their stay. We not only own this unit and our three other Cabins but we run them as well. This business is our Passion and we have always wanted only the best for our guests. It is always hard when first starting out to have everything as nice as you want it to be. It took work by us and with no employees we could only get things done as the two us could do it. We have added many more Amenities to our business since 2006. If you step off of our property from this unit you are on Rocky Mountain National Park property. Our web site now has video of each cabin and the site itself has many pictures and good information. I have waited a long time to post a comment to this post(2/2010) but felt like I needed to finally respond so that others looking to stay here may feel more assured that it is a nice property as it stands today. Thank you for allowing me to comment on this post.

My wife and I used the River Cabin as our base for doing some hiking in RMNP. This was a very nice cabin for such use. The decor of this cabin was ideal for the setting (bear and fishing theme). There were so many amenities that made this stay nice. They list the amenities on the web site so I won't repeat them here. What's not mentioned much is the river and the chairs set up on the bank to enjoy the scenery. Although you can't see the river from the cabin, it is only about 60-70 feet down a little path. The only drawback for us was the fact there was no dishwasher or garbage disposal. We used the kitchen for cooking each night and we're not used to doing the dishes by hand (spoiled I guess). If you know this before you go, you can at least prepare accordingly. You should also know they don't want you to flush the toilet if you're only going to urinate (if it's yellow, let it mellow notice is posted in the bathroom). Overall though, the stay was very nice.
