“Wonderful and Romantic!”
Reviewed April 14, 2011

We stayed at the Carriage House for our 17th Wedding Anniversary. The cabin is cozy and clean and romantic. Annie and Craig have thought of everything for the cabin. It is a few minutes from town. The hot tub is to die for!! It was nice and romantic and we had a great time. We had dinner at Orlando's steakhouse. Steak and Lobster. Steak was very tender, worth the extra $1 to get the bluecheese/garlic butter melted on top! The wine tasting in town was very cool. Two wineries to try. Stopped for lunch at the Wapiti Restaurant, Mike the bartender was great. You must try his "Cherry Cheesecake" drink. it was awesome! The best drink I have ever tasted.. The next time we visit Estes Park we will for sure stay at Annie's place again. It was awesome.

My Husband and I stayed in the Mountain Cabin at Annie's celebrating our Anniversary and Valentine's Day for 2 nights. It was so homey and romantic! Annie supplied EVERYTHING but our food! (and booze :) ) I truly felt as if I was at home, but free felt from any of the distractions. We had an absolutely beautiful view of the stars from the Hot Tub and wiggled our feet in the snow. (Super privacy if you know what I mean!) Watching the Super Bowl was also fun. We plan on taking a "StayVacation" and going back to Annie's this summer, just because we had such a great time!

We had a destination wedding in Estes Park, so we stayed 6 nights in total at Annie's Mountain Retreats. The first 3 days we'll be staying in Mountain Cabin, and the last 3 days we'll be staying at the Carriage House. The Mountain Cabin was smaller and cozier (might feel too small to some), but it was next to the road so it can be traffic noisy at times. The Carriage house was a bit off on a dirt road so it was larger and quieter. We liked the carriage house better because it is more spacious and comfortable, and has a cute cowboy/western decor. Plus, there is a ton of amenities as well - toiletries, hot tub, a full kitchen, big four poster bed, snacks, etc. We also took pictures of the cabin on our wedding morning as well. Great cabins

We stayed in the Carriage House for two nights and had a great stay. Annie has the cabin stocked with everything you would ever need and then some. Really - there's nothing she didn't think of. The decor is perfect and consistent throughout, the bed and bathroom are luxurious and the hot tub room is private and romantic. It was the perfect place for us to stay, as it was minutes from Estes Park and the Rocky Mountain National Park, but far enough away to see wildlife and enjoy the quiet. Annie made us feel comfortable and very well taken care of. We highly recommend the Carriage House for a romantic getaway.

We have stayed at Annie's Mountain Retreat, in the Romantic cottage 9 years. Craig and Annie always go out of their way to make it an unforgettable trip. After a hard day of hiking there's nothing better than returning to the cottage and the hot tub. It's a time to reconnect for my husband and I. We are already booked for out tenth trip to this little piece of heaven.

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying in the River Cabin in mid Oct 2008. It was really perfect in every aspect. Comfy and cozy living room with NFL tv package, beautiful stone fireplace and attention to decorating detail. Bed was very comfortable and there was a wonderful jetted 2 person tub surrouned by stone. We enjoyed the outdoor hot tub while it snowed-awesome! The walk to the river was peaceful and you can sit right at the edge and enjoy a glass of wine and watch the wildlife. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we are returning in Oct of 2010. Unfortunately, the River cabin was already booked so we picked the Mountain cabin for this stay which I feel sure will be equally superb. You could not have a cleaner cabin or one with such personal touches!
I don't agree about road noise but you may have to be a little patient when pulling onto and off the highway. Don't think we'd ever entertain staying elsewhere in Estes Park!

My husband and I stayed at the Carriage House with our 2 year old son for a week. Annie's cabins are mainly set up as couples retreats. She requested that we stay at the Carriage House because the other ones are so close to the river. Great idea since we booked several months in advance and there had been record rainfall at the time of our vacation. Raging rivers and 2-year olds do not a relaxing vacation make.

Annie called to warn us that the weather was turning cold and we were traveling from Florida. Since we had already left and she only got voicemail, she had warm coats waiting for all three of us when we got to the cabin. It snowed in mid-August, something us Southerners weren't expecting, but Annie saved the day.

The cabin had absolutely everything you could possible need and lots of things you wouldn't even think of bringing. The first day was cold and rainy, but my husband relaxed by the fire with his altitude headache while my son and I watched elk feeding in the parking lot of the grocery store while picking up supplies.

The Carriage house is incredibly convenient for RMNP. Drive time is nil and you can even walk to the Park from the cabin. There are other vacation cabins in the area that are not as nice as Annie's, but you don't have that "condo village" feel. There definately is no cooker cutter used at Annie's.

If you're looking for a nice, quiet, romantic get away in Estes Park, definately give Annie's Mountain Retreat a try.
