This was our third time in Colorado and I have been wanting to stop here every time, so we finally did. Very happy we made time for it! The tour is inexpensive, the guides are very friendly and informative, and the sanctuary itself is very impressive. The wolves have more space than many animals I have seen in zoos. You can tell they are well taken care of and the staff truly cares about the well being of the animals. If you are in the Colorado Springs area, it is worth the extra drive to go see. And how often do you get to howl with wolves?!

We took the Moonlight tour where you arrive just before the sun goes down. You get a tour of all of the wolves and we even got to pet a baby wolf! At the end of the tour you end up in the dark and you howl at all the wolves and the best part is...... they howl back. It was an amazing experience and we will defiantely be going back.

My family and I visited the Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center last week while vacationing in Colorado Springs. Took about an hour to get to it, but well worth the drive. The place is amazing! And the guides are terrific too -- and the wolves are just too gorgeous! They also have foxes, horses, etc. but the wolves are the real highlight of the place. Our tour guide was wonderful -- showed us all 17 wolves and gave us the background and described the personality of each one -- the tour only cost $10 per person and lasted over an hour. The real treat was at the end when we found out we could do a photo session with the wolves - we paid the additional $100 and the guide took us to one of the wolf's cages and we went in - they then brought 2 friendly wolves in with us and took photos while we fed the wolves treats and we were able to pet them, and they were so excited they were kissing us! At the end of the photo session, they put all of the photos on a CD which they give to you before you leave. The CD can be copied and sent to friends, relatives, etc. All in all, this was the highlight of our week in Colorado Springs - wonderful place with the friendliest employees. Definitely a must see while in the Colorado Springs area. Excellent attraction!

I think this was the best 'sanctuary' I have been to. The wolves each have a ton of space and the tour guide was sure to make it clear that they do many things to keep the wolves stimulated and let them live as close to 'free' as possible. With the slaughter that wolves are experiencing in the wild it is really nice to see some that are happy, well taken care and will live a long life. It is very chilly, even in the spring, so bring a coat. Nice gift shop. Also they have fox and coyotes. LOVED IT! The group howl at the end was awesome! For an extra $100 you can get up close and personal with them and get your picture taken.
