“HAD to go back more than once!”
Reviewed August 14, 2013

Can't say enough great things about this place! LOVED the patio. LOVED the food. LOVED the waitress (Dawn, ask for her! and tell her Gail & Carolyn said hello)! LOVED the flower boxes everywhere!

This place is hopping so you might have to wait a few moments for an outside table but worth the wait. On a busy corner near a lake. Locals, tourist, bikers, hikers. We went twice for breakfast and would have gone more and more but had to leave the area for the rest of our trip. Burritos big enough for two. Salmon was cooked perfectly. Friendly atmosphere.

If you go on a Friday, be sure and hit the Farmer's Market down the street. Art, crafts and veggies. We stopped for veggies and ended up staying 2 hours.

We're proud of our staff, our food, the patio, the flowers-- and so happy that you had the chance to enjoy it! The Farmer's Market is an attraction to enjoy as well. Don't forget a walk by the lake, too.
Thanks for the feedback! ~Steph

“Top Tier establishment - We make excuses to stop”
Reviewed August 13, 2013

This is a Dillon staple. Whether it's a couple's trip, a trip with the guys, or just a quick stop on the way from here to there; we always make a point to stop and enjoy the great service and the excellent food. Their smoked turkey club is among my personal favorites, but always ask what the specials are. They make/made a baked mac and cheese that is one of the best I've ever had. Only wish is that they'd include a BBQ platter on the everyday menu. Since that's the only complaint, I'd say they do pretty darn well! Always a pleasure dining here.

We're glad you stopped by! The turkey club, and the mac n' cheese make a satifying meal. Thanks for your comments. ~Steph

PS: and that's a great suggestion: always ask for the specials-you never know what the Chef is cooking up, but you know it's something good !

“Homey, delightful”
Reviewed August 12, 2013

This is a quaint home, converted to a restaurant. Low ceiling, pine paneling, small rooms, lots of fascinating local vintage photos on the walls. Outside in summer --- enjoy your meal on the patio if it's warm enough and you like being surrounded by lots of flower boxes overflowing with well-tended colorful blooms. Wait staff really nice, laid back. Not the fastest service out of the kitchen, but when you get the food, you understand why. Each dish is built from scratch with fresh ingredients. My husband's breakfast burrito could have fed a family of 4 nicely and was absolutely delicious. I ordered Doug's Oatmeal, which I had no high expectations of ... but I was surprised: well-prepared steel cut oats, loads of fresh berries and an overwhelming portion. They have fabulous coffee and need to provide much bigger cups or carafes on the tables so you don't have to request refills constantly. I'm looking forward to returning and trying out the lunch and dinner menus. This is a place that resonates with authenticity and they are intentional about their food experience. Try it!

“Good food but unfriendly”
Reviewed August 11, 2013

The food here is excellent, but the staff were not at all happy about seating our big family group where only some of us wanted to eat a full breakfast. They did seat us, but felt it necessary to constantly remind us what a burden we were. This wasn't very smart on their part since we were all staying in town for 3 days and would surely have come back often had they not been so unfriendly.

“Pit-Smoked BBQ Brisket”
Reviewed August 9, 2013

I am from Kansas City where barbeque has been honed to a fine art. Properly prepared beef brisket is the biggest challenge for anyone to master. You won't be dissapointed with the lucious tender juicy pit-smoked BBQ brisket sandwich at Arapahoe Cafe. Good barbeque is all about the smoke, not the sauce, and here, they know how to get it right. This sandwich was appropriately served, meat piled on a toasted bun with pickles and sauce on the side. There were two choices for sauce, regular and hot, I liked the regular. I changed out the fries for a wonderful cup of roasted tomato, spinach, and asiago soup, ate the brisket with a fork, and dipped the bun in the soup, delicious! The small side of coleslaw was a quite good, a nice light tangy dressing. I also tried the LaBonte's buffalo cheeseburger and fries ordered at our table, they were tasty, but no comparison to my barbeque meal. This place has a cozy cabin Colorado feel, some tables have views of the lake. It was quite busy when we visited, but the wait staff there are real pros and handled the crowd pretty easily.
