I love Texas de Brazil, and have been at 4 or 5 0f their locations. For non meat eaters, they allow you to order just the "salad bar" (an understatement), and pay a reduced price. They have the most incredible salad bar, and I really can't see why the meat eaters would have any room after this! The atmosphere is beautiful, and the service (from Ted) was attentive and above the expected (napkin folded each time I got up). I started with a Margarita made not with Tequila, but with a Brazilian equivalent made from sugar cane. It was wonderful, and they have a tremendous drink menu and wine list.
The "salad bar" is enormous, and to the best of my recollection, here are some of the items:
Mixed greens, with croutons, crumbled bacon, and dressings (there is a whole table of olive oils and different balsamic vinegars)
Cous Cous salad
Cheeses-terrine of goat cheese, smoked provolone, fresh mozzarella and a couple of others
Jasmine rice, potatoes au gratin, and other hot items
Black and green olives
The BEST hearts of palm
Sliced cold cuts
Salmon filet, smoked, with mustard sauce
Sushi (one kind, a roll)
etc., etc., etc.
The feast is accompanied by small rolls with cheese in them, which could be addicting.
I love this place, and Brazilian steakhouses are one of the last bastions of the salad bar, and boy, do they do it right! I am told the meat is really good too!
