“Room not ready!”
Reviewed July 6, 2012

This was booked months in advance from the UK, for our last night in Denver. When we arrived, receptionist allocated a room for us, and we took our luggage up to it. Not ready! Dirty! Items from previous occupant's stay strewn all over the floor. Surely the reception SHOULD HAVE KNOWN which rooms had been cleaned and which had not? We left our luggage there, and informed the receptionist that the room wasn't ready, and they assured us it would be immediately. We gave them an hour while we went out, and admittedly it was ready when we returned. However, it puts you off the place once you see how other people leave it! What must they be like in their own homes, or are they? Surely, also there should be some way reception can keep a track on its rooms?

Room Tip: Make sure they confirm the allocated room is cleaned before you get to it!

I booked a hotel on hotels.com and there was so much mis-communication about parking at this hotel. The owner over heard my predicament and was SOOOOO accommodating to my needs! Staying at this hotel tonight has shown me there are still people doing good deeds in this world. Thank you Comfort Inn and Suites DIA!!!

The last two times we have stayed at this hotel, we have had terrible experiences with the airport shuttle driver. We have ended up waiting for the shuttle to pick us up when we returned from our trip for up to 1 1/2 hours, and last week, the driver was extremely rude and blamed us for the delay!!! We called the hotel when we were in baggage claim and the front desk told us which door to go out to catch our shuttle and that the driver would pick us up in 10-15 minutes. We were still waiting for him 1 1/2 hours later, even after a couple of calls to the hotel. When he finally arrived, he said it was our fault for not being at the correct door. We found this interesting, since the front desk had told us that he didn't have room for our party and took other guests back to the hotel first. My friend that was waiting for us at the hotel told me that 1 guest got out of the shuttle. After we loaded into his van, he was slamming doors, never apologized and continued to berate us. We will never stay at this hotel again!

The first experience was great...the last two were horrible. I travel for work and know we all have bad days...I get it...but I realize this hotel has spiraled out of control. The management has lost control and it is apparent.

The staff is all new and nobody has any training.

Please seek anything else but here. If you think sleeping in the airport is a horrible idea, trust me when I tell you that it is better than staying at the Comfort Suites DIA. The owner is unreasonable and is the only person allowed to make a decision. She treats you like a terrorist and is less than personable.

After a flight from Washington D.C. to Denver this was a great place to rest within 5klm of the airport, modern, clean and a short drive to shops and restaurants, staff were friendly and very helpful.

Let's start with the good part. It was clean. Sorry to say, that's about it. The furnishings are cut rate, the beds were under-sized for the advertised queen beds (the main reason why I chose this place was to get 2 queens at an airport hotel), and pretty much everything else was just not of the quality of many short stay hotels. I could have stayed at almost any of the dozen plus competitors on Tower Road for the same price or a few dollars more -- and I wish that I had. There's really no reason to stay here unless everything else in a similar price range is full-up.

I understand that we had to wait 40 minutes for the airport shuttle because we didn't know we were supposed to call, but that was the beginning of the horrible experience! We finally made it to the hotel to find the lady at the desk sitting in a chair playing on a cell phone and was clearly disgusted to have to get up to do anything. There was a phone ringing nonstop in the background the entire time we were checking in. (Probably someone needing a ride from the airport!) Finally a lady came from the back and answered the phone but was irritated the person on the phone couldn't understand her - we couldnt either. She then stood over the other girl asking "what's going on? what's going on?" I am assuming she was the manager from her actions. Awkward and extremely uncomfortable for everyone involved!

The lobby is strange - only way to describe. It looks like a mish-mash of styles that have been cheaply thrown together - rustic cabin meets mustard explosion meets red something-or-other. Strange.

Now the room was supposed to be a suite according to the confirmation but we got was a normal room with no color. It was just like what you would imagine a room in a mental institiution. Plain white and devoid of any color other than the green shag carpet from 1980. The bedspread went right to the floor because I think someone was laying on it before. The window fame was broken and the noise was unbelievable! The bathroom was clean but decorated like an interstate rest area. A white plastic slab, rusted out light fixture, and peeling wallpaper only accented the yellow towels that weren't even as soft as sandpaper. The front desk informed me that check in time was 2pm and she did me a favor to get my family in early when I asked to be relocated. Needless to say we didn't get moved.

Later we rented a car because this hotel is near absolutely nothing other than a 50's style diner-which was wonderful-but after returning from Red Rocks, there was not a single parking space in the whole lot. The man behind the desk said they have that problem all the time and I should park across in the diner lot but said I might be towed.

The breakfast was decent. ONLY decent. They must be having serious financial troubles because everything was from Costco - cheapest tissue (Kirkland brand) and even the small danish in the morning was cut in half! The bananas were as brown as a crayola and the apple was no bigger than a crab apple, yet nicely wrapped in saran! Why we stayed the whole night is a good question! The highlight of the trip was knowing we done with that junk hole!

This could seriously have ben a scene from a National Lampoon Griswold Family Vacation movie!

If you thinking sleeping in the airport is a bad experience, you should try this place out! You will reconsider quick!

Room Tip: No rooms could be decent here. We stayed on the "sunny" side on the south in the back awa...
