I stayed here for several days for a conference. The banquet/catering facilities were great... food, service, everything was top notch and exceeded expectations.
The rooms are a different story. I didn't have WiFi for the duration of my stay, and neither did any of my coworkers that were spread throughout the hotel. I called their tech support - they found it was an error with the hardware and said they'd have someone look into it. I made repeated calls back, and they couldn't update me, just that it was being addressed. I finally explained the situation to the front desk, and they told me it probably wouldn't get fixed because the equipment is outdated.
The WiFi in the lobby worked, but the lobby is mostly closed for renovations so there was nowhere to sit or use my laptop. There were limited lounging areas near the entrance, but they were always full.
The rooms are outdated and the walls are unusually thin. I heard every conversation from the adjacent room. The bathroom was nice. Parking is free which is surprising. The location isn't as bad as others make it out to be - it's next door to Stapleton which is a booming "new urban" development with lots of restaurants, shopping, and entertainment options. Colfax Avenue is easy to get to with a ton of cool shops, bars, and restaurants. Downtown is easy to get to straight down Colfax.
The lack of internet for the duration of my stay created a huge headache for my co-workers and I, and the outdated feel to the rooms given the price point is what contributed to the low rating. I hate to leave negative reviews, especially for a property on the cusp of an extensive renovation, but it shouldn't have got this bad before the renovation was started.
