The room was a bit dated as expected. The area was kind of seedy, as others had said. We were 2 guys so it wasn't a problem. Coffee maker in room was nice. Bed was reasonably comfortable. Overall, for the price and location it was good. Just don't expect too much. Heating thermostat did not work that well.

We stay here for a week every year and always enjoy it. Free shuttle to convention center, ample free parking. The staff (Victor and Isreal) really make this property a place that we keep coming back to. The hallways need help and the area is not the safest, but we love the local pubs and restaurants. Beds and room are clean and comfortable.

Having finished a business stay at a nicer hotel, I moved to this Ramada for half the price in preparation for a short trip to the mountains. It was just as I'd been led to expect, even a slight pleasant surprise. Everything shabby & worn but clean & working. Skip the motel restaurant breakfast (It is not complimentary) and cross the street to SPICES cafe, tucked behind the English Pub, for fantastic cooking.

Needed a hotel within reasonable distance of the convention center and didnt want to pay the usual $200-300 for a big name hotel. I arrived late and was received by a very helpful desk clerk. The Irish pub across the street is a real gem with great food and a good range of brews. The hotel is dated but for $75 a night it was better than I expected. Comfortable quiet room. Shuttle service is good and dependable. Free wifi is a welcome sight. Ramada could do well by updating the decor a little. Yes the street outside is not to everyones liking with a mix of red light spots, laundrettes and some dodgy characters but if you are not out walking aimlessly around after midnight you wont have a problem. Overall thumbs up!

Hi
My wife was staying at the Ramada Inn during a week where her birthday also fell, and I hoped to be able to surprise her during her stay.
I contacted the Manager (Victor) and he was very helpfull in helping me get a cake and flowers delivered to her room on her birthday.
Victor was very helpfull, and I hear from my wife that the hotel in general is nice too.
Thank you for your help.
Regards
Janus

Baulking at the offer of paying $180 a night to stay near the convention center, I found the Ramada Downtown online for about a third of the price. It's a 20-25 minute walk from downtown, so the name is rather misleading, but it's a comfortable, pleasant hotel, and East Colfax is a fascinating street. Giant laundromats rub shoulders with grand old houses, whilst the Ogden Theatre rubs shoulders with Denver's "hottest lesbians". It won't be to everyone's taste, but for me it made a pleasant change from the anonymity of many such places. The room was large, clean and tastefully decorated, and if you don't wish to dine in the hotel, there's a Polish bar and an Irish pub across the road, both of which are pretty good.

Ok, so don't expect the 4-star hotel here, but for the price you pay, you'll get your money's worth (nice comfortable room and friendly staff). I stayed there for a week and did not have any of the problems mentioned in other reviews with staff, and the housekeeping staff did an excellent job every day cleaning my room, making the bed, etc.

I'd definitely stay there again if I ever go back to Denver.

I did not have a car so I cannot say anything about the parking, and I did not use the shuttle.

For those worried about other reviews saying how "far" the hotel is, I'd suggest you look up on Google Maps to have an idea of the distance you'd have to walk/drive to go visit. I am a wheelchair user and pushed the whole week to and from the hotel to go to the Street Mall that is downtown, to a Rockies game, to an Avalanche and Nuggets game, etc., etc. Only needed to take the city bus to go to Lakewood.

No, the neighbordhood where the hotel is isn't the fanciest, but I felt safe nonetheless, no matter what time of day/night I was outside. People may seem sketchy, but they leave you alone all the time.
